Next on the agenda---GRAD!!!

Well today I worked at subway and it was ABSOLUTELY CRAZY! The people NEVER stopped coming in. Finally about an hour before I left work I said "OK I NEED TO EAT OR I WILL DIE!" That's the one problem with subway....breaks are not a "must" with them and I'm sorry, but I get hungry and when I need food, I NEED FOOD! LOL . I have never been so glad to be done work as I was today :D. I came home and got ready for the grad banquet. The food was great but it was hard to enjoy it seeing as I had to give A SPEECH AFTER. (ya when I was up there giving a speech I honestly wondered "what am I even SAYING" LOL...oh boo to speeches) I got to sit with Jonny and his parents and my parents (best two families EVER ) and Amanda and Patrice. Luckily Patrice was waaaaaay across the table from me because I happened to be wearing the same dress I wore at freshman banquet. At freshman banquet Patrice was across from me and flicked a candle and somehow I ended up with wax all over my hair, face, and brand new dress! Lol! He felt very bad about it though and graciously paid for the dry cleaning...but nevertheless, I'm glad the candles weren't lit tonight. ha ha ha. Well I feel very happy right now so I'm going to go enjoy my happiness....and eat something...then I will be SUPER HAPPY :)

College is done!!!! HAPPY :D....SAD:( ?

Well tonight was OFFICIALLY THE LAST day of college. Woot! We listened to everyone in the preaching, music, and speech contests today. (Might I add, Jonny did amazing preaching his sermon AGAIN--- even though I have heard it THREE times lol) Tonight we had a college activity (gym night). Now usually when we have gym nights I kinda dread it a little because I was not born with sporty genes.... But I was a little excited for tonight just because it was our last one. I thought I could suffer through some sports lol. But instead we went bowling and out to PIZZA HUT!!!!! :D SO FUN! At Pizza hut I sat there and thought "I'm gonna MISS THIS!" and now I suddenly have MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT BEING DONE SCHOOL! :( Yes , this is from the girl who could NOT WAIT to be done school :S lol! Tomorrow is the graduation banquet....and I'm dreading it because I have to give a speech :S. It just ruins the whole night for me! Speeches have never been my thing.... eeek! Well that's all my news for tonight! Such a GREAT night tonight :)

Well I did it! I finished my last two exams today! yaaaaaaaaaay! It feels so weird to not have homework, studying, or reading that I have to do. What will I do with myself? Alyssa and I are going to "Marshalls" grand opening today before work! I hope they have a TON of good deals going on.

Well it is officially my first time voting this Monday. I think last time there was an election I had to go right from school to work and didn't vote....bad me! :( On Monday, one of my five year old students was telling me how his grandma went on vacation so he told me who she voted for since she voted early. lol. He then asked me who I was voting for. I didn't feel the need to tell a 5 YR OLD kid !!! lol So I just said "I don't know." Then he said "Are you voting for the one that wants Quebec to leave Canada? DO YOU want them to LEAVE?" ha ha ha! "Um.... no :) I want Quebec to stay!" He is one of the funniest yet smartest 5 yr olds I know.

Last night I was in bed when I heard something outside my window. I got all scared thinking it was a bat. We have had bats in our house MANY times before and they scare me to death! One time Jenn woke up in the night and heard something in her room, she sat up and a bat flew into her head! HA HA HA! Another time Jenn & I thought we heard a bat outside her room...so we took a frisbee (ya I don't understand our reasoning there) and a baseball bat, ready to conquer the world. But there was no bat, I think it was a leaf. This last year we had a bat that kept coming back into our house but it always escaped when my dad tried to catch it. I remember Alyssa waking me up SO many nights saying "THE BAT IS BACK!" And we would squeal and run up the stairs and get my dad but the bat always escaped. My mom one night woke up around 2 and thought "I will see if the bat is back." Sure enough it was! She got my dad (Alyssa & I were sleeping) and my dad blocked the fireplace so the bat couldn't escape.  My dad got a broom and SMACKED that thing and if I recall correctly his "broom swinging arm" hurt him for the next for weeks! ha ha.  All this to say bats were scary BEFORE when I had sisters living in the basement with me....but NOW... they are way scarier since I'm all alone. So I got up and banged on my window hoping to scare the "bat" away. Then I got all scared and starting texting Jonny
Me :"A BAT IS going to come in my room and BITE ME AND GIVE ME RABIES AND I WILL DIE."
Jonny: "You won't die"
Me: "Well what happens to people with rabies?"
Jonny: "They die."
Me: "Then WHY did you just say I won't die? Look it up! I need to KNOW!"
It was 11:49 PM by now....Jonny looked it up
Jonny: "You would die!"
Me: "How FAST? WOULD I die INSTANTLY?"
Jonny: "Pretty soon, but they can give treatments for it."
Me: "Well who HAS rabies?"
Jonny: "Raccoons"
Me: "WHO ELSE?"
Jonny: "Mainly raccoons, skunks, foxes, coyotes, and BATS!"

After another few minutes of me telling him "I am sleeping with my light on. Are bats afraid of light? Actually, I just won't sleep." He texts back "It's EXTREMELY RARE for bats to have rabies!" ya NOW he lies to me ;)...actually maybe it's true. I'm too scared to look it up! But this morning I told him it was a MEAN thing to tell me all THAT about bats and he SHOULD NOT HAVE told me. He said "you asked, what did you want me to do....lie?" Ummmm YES! I do hope it was just a leaf outside my window :S

Well remember yesterday when I said I found a cheque in my wallet that I had forgotten about? After I finished blogging I was looking in my wallet...and found ANOTHER cheque that I had apparently forgotten about! YAYYY :)
Tomorrow I have my last two exams and then I am officially done! yaaaaaaaaay! Can't wait to be done my exams!
Jenn and Tim sent a grad present back with my parents for me. She said I was allowed opening it early. So I opened it on Monday and it was a .....COOKIE COOK BOOK!!!!! yum! So yesterday morning I was reading it when I should have been studying ha ha! I saw a recipe that looked REALLY good so I asked my dad to pick up a couple ingredients for me while he was out shopping. Last night Jonny & I made the cookies and he said they were some of the BEST cookies he has EVER HAD!!! YAY. Actually, I shouldn't say Jonny & I made the cookies....because he was not very good at helping ha ha....So I told him he could have the job then of reading me the recipe... and it went something like this....

Me: What's the next ingredient?
Jonny: Ummm.... flour?
Me: No! I just put flour in!
Jonny: Oh, well then your done!
Me: No I'm not! I haven't even used all the INGREDIENTS YET!

Ha ha ha! I gave up and just read the recipe myself. Oh well, he was good at eating the cookies :) I always remember the days of when Jenn would make cookies. She didn't bake very often but when she did it was very common to hear "Cheryl? Are they done yet?" "Cheryl, Can you please come check again?" Lol

I really can't wait for summer break to start! (6 more days!) :D. I have so many plans for this summer :). I usually end up with SOOOOO many plans but only end up doing half of them. Except for last year! Last year was a pretty successful year with all my plans :).

Can't wait to hear Jonny preach tonight!! Can't wait till tomorrow at this time because my EXAMS WILL BE DONE! EEEEEK!

Deals, Mario, & FREE money = Perfection

Today was a GREAT day :) Joy & I went out shopping after our exam today! We found lots of good deals which ALWAYS makes me happy :). Then Joy came over to my house and we played Mario. We kept mistakingly killing each other though. It was kinda sad. I still remember back in Junior high when Joy & I walked around the parking lot at school on our break. I don't remember which of us it was that said "Do you wanna be best friends?" then the other said "I was JUST THINKING THAT!" Ha ha and it stuck since then! We have had lots of adventures together! I remember once we went to visit some of Joy's relatives. We decided to take a walk. So we started out walking, and walking, and walking....and walking...."ok let's go back!!" ummm....we didn't check the street name! We had NO idea where we were and we had taken so many turns that we did not know how to get back. We ran and ran and ran....for what seemed like hours....just when we thought we were lost for GOOD... we saw the van! We made it! I have now learned to ALWAYS check street names. We also suffered through some spider trauma together! Joy was sleeping over at my house and we were the only ones still awake. We were sitting on the bed talking and having fun ...til we look by the door and there is a MASSIVE spider probably twice the size of a toonie...seriously HUGE! We started freaking out and our conversation went something like this....
Cheryl -"KILL THE SPIDER"
Joy- "YOU KILL THE SPIDER....IT'S YOUR HOUSE!!!!!!!"
Cheryl- "YOU ARE THE GUEST....YOU KILL IT!"
Joy-" I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO KILL IT BECAUSE I'M THE GUEST!"
Cheryl- "Well someone has to kill it before.....UH OH! It's GONE!!!"
We opened the door and found the escaped convict literally TAUNTING US! I then grabbed a BIG HUGE DICTIONARY and without stepping on the floor I threw the dictionary on it and started CRYING ha ha ....I was SO SCARED. Joy then got punished with the job of checking if the spider was actually DEAD after. Needless to say, we did not WALK on the floor that night....we hopped and leaped trying to avoid walking on the floor at ALL costs in case this mammoth spider had a family! Yup we have definitely made some good memories over the years! lol

Jonny made it into the PREACHING FINALS! I am soooo excited! He is preaching in church tomorrow night. It's funny everytime he has to do something like sing or play the piano for church I get SOOO nervous for him and feel like I'm the one who has to do it! Ha ha! At least I have already heard him preach his sermon once so maybe I won't feel nervous for him...I hope :). Did I mention that he is the sweetest guy ever? We had about 40 bags of leafs that my dad wanted me to move out by the road for this morning. Unfortunately I can hardly LIFT those bags! When Jonny and I carried them before he would drag two and I would push two in the wheelbarrow. When it came time to unload them, I was useless. So yesterday between classes Jonny came and moved ALL the bags by the road for me! :) Yup, he's definitely a prize! :)

Today I found a CHEQUE in my wallet that I had forgotten about. Yay free money! I need to stop writing before this becomes a book...hmmm...writing a book....that's an idea :)

I can almost taste the freedom!

Well today I took my first exam... I'm getting closer and closer to being done school. That makes me plain old HAPPY :). I can't wait to be able to SIT OUTSIDE and read every day and not worry about studying or homework. (Ha...I DO go to work in summer....really...I just spend ALOT of my time reading outside :D)

Tonight was a good night at work. :) My one student brought me a rolo egg and then later in the lesson told me I was awesome! awwwww :) ! I walked to subway on my spare and it took TWENTY MINUTES TO get my sub! There was only one guy working and a line up :S. Unfortunately when I WORK at subway and then go to a DIFFERENT subway to get a sub I find they can NEVER make my sub how I like it. It's a little depressing. Cuz I used to buy subs and not know that they could taste even BETTER! When I ask for EXTRA PICKLES...I mean a couple INCHES of pickles....not two more....this is how it went ... "Can I have more pickles please?" "A little more please?" "Can I have a few more?" Then I just gave up and made due with my few extra pickles....OH well... :(

You know what has REALLY been bothering me lately? During convention (in March) we had some girls stay at our house. Ok...I eat two waffles almost EVERY SINGLE day.... (occasionally I eat cereal)... but at convention one of the girls at only one waffle. That throws off my system like you WOULDN'T BELIEVE! Usually I eat the last two waffles, then the box is done and the next day I grab the new box. Now I have to take out the one waffle and go did out a new box on the same day. Umm....can you say WASTE OF TIME? And then sometimes I have to mix and match different waffle flavour because of it....GROWL. :)

Well eventually I have to finish studying tonight. But first I am waiting for my chocolate covered strawberries to harden so I can eat them. YUUUUUUUUM :)

I love my church!

Well today was an absolutely amazing day at church! We had a FULL HOUSE! A ton of visitors! It was amazing! Sometimes it's good when you can't find a seat I guess :D! Today in Sunday school Alyssa & I hid SOOOO MANY easter eggs for our class! Hiding them took WAY longer than 9 kids finding them did! lol. Church made me feel ecstatic today. I don't know how to explain it, but to see so many visitors, celebrate Easter, and be with my Sunday school kids made me so happy!

Last night was my first night EVER sleeping alone at home. I don't know if it was good or bad. I can't decide. I DEFINITELY prefer not being alone in the house but I survived. I didn't think I would. I DO know that I couldn't sleep though. So I decided to count sheep! I decided I would make all the sheep jump over a fence. I divided the sheep into three categories.... the baby sheep (they are fast and energetic-1,2,3,etc...), the high jumping sheep (they take longer to land on the ground after jumping-1....2.....3....etc) and the old sheep (they take a LONGGGG time to jump-1.................................2.......................................3 ETC...) So this is how my system of counting sheep worked. I got bored of it and gave up. Now I come to think that I may have a slight problem! Who DIVIDES sheep up into categories before counting them? ah well. Eventually I fell asleep....maybe from boredom! lol

Long Weekend :)

Well it is now Saturday night! :) I have had a pretty good long weekend so far :) Yesterday I spent the day at Jonny's and Shannon also slept over the last two nights! We did ALOT of talking lol...I'm very tired now but we sure had fun :) I love catching up with friends! :) Today at work we were SOOOOO busy. I didn't get my break til 20 minutes before I was supposed to leave and I was about to go CRAZY IF I DIDN'T EAT! LOL! Luckily I got food in me before I went crazy :). Then Joy and I talked in accents for the last WHO KNOWS how long of work! ha ha! It was fun except that we kept mistakingly switching accents! And might I say....once you start talking in an accent....it's REALLY hard to stop! Ha ha! Oh the fun of working with friends! :) Unfortunately Jonny didn't get home from work since after 7 tonight! That means we only had 2 HOURS TOGETHER! GASP!!! LOL...yes, I know, it's better than nothing...it's just that time goes by SOOO FAST with him...so 2 hours seems like nothing! I think I feel summer coming on! Today was SOOOO WARM OUT! It's always warm the days that I'm stuck in work :S! When I got home I sat outside and read! (not pleasure reading might I add....it was for a class....but it actually was a pretty interesting book...:D I just LOVE when that happens!)
Well tomorrow is Sunday already! Alyssa and I have something fun planned for our Sunday school class tomorrow. I'm excited :)

:) :) :) Hello long weekend!

Well today is a MILESTONE in my life! Today was my last day of CLASSES! WOOOOHOOO!!! :D...now exams next week...GAG! Today Joy and I went out to Second cup and had a very much needed heart to heart with a friend! Then I went to work and I REALLY REALLY REALLY did not feel like working today. I think it partly had to do with Jonny not working tonight and I hate working when he's not working!!! My student and I were reviewing her rhymes that we use to figure out her notes. The rhyme for the bass clef spaces is "All Cows Eat Grass" for some reason she got confused and told me the rhyme was "Elephants Don't Eat Grass" ha ha ha ....um WHAT? When I corrected her ...she looked confused...! Ha ha we have gone over this rhyme for a few wks now so I don't know what was going on in her head! ha ha! My next student was giving me trouble tonight so in my nicest way I kept making him bow (in practice of recital) yet everytime he bowed his arms would almost touch the floor! hE JUST WOULDN'T DO IT PROPERLY!  His mom sits in the lesson so I think he felt embarrassed in front of her. But it got a little frustrating. After work Alyssa and I went to Metro...and WHO do I see in the parking lot? That SAME STUDENT! I didn't think he saw me and since he frustrated me today I just walked into Metro! While shopping this little boy comes RUNNING through the aisle....til he finds me! ha ha ha! My student found me! So we said "hi" and talked for a few seconds, then Lyss and I finished shopping. We walked by him again and Lyss said "uhh...he's staring at you with a HUGE SMILE like you're his best friend or something!" ha ha ....maybe next week I can get my "BEST FRIEND" to bow properly for me! lol!

I have a TWIN!!!!!

Have you ever heard that EVERYONE has a twin somewhere in the world! I have seen it before. A random stranger who looks EXACTLY like one of my friends! It's scary! I remember once when I was a kid there was this girl I met at camp who was really nice. About a year later I was watching the convention events and I saw HER! I was all excited and said her name....whatever it was....and it wasn't her. lol . But the random stranger looked EXACTLY LIKE HER! Well, today I was at zellers just looking on one of the shelves when this man starts coming up on my left. My head was down so I just saw it out of the corner of my eye... and then he stopped...and just looked at me. He grabbed my arm (LOL) and when I looked up I think he realized I wasn't the person he thought I was. He said  "WOW YOU LOOK EXACTLY LIKE SOMEONE I KNOW! YOU HAVE A TWIN!" yayyyy :) I have a twin! :) I want to find my twin one day. How cool would that be to find someone that looks like you. :)  People always think Alyssa and I are twins! Sometimes it's funny and sometimes it's plain old annoying. I have had SOOOOO many people call me "Alyssa" and depending on the person I feel rude correcting them! lol... The worst was when I went into the bank by the church. Alyssa & I both ALWAYS go to this bank so the ladies in there know who we are. They knew ALL ABOUT alyssa getting married and even would ask me about it before the wedding saying "is your sister ready for her wedding? Are you excited?" etc....About a week after she was married I went into the bank and there were two ladies in there. Neither of which I REALLY knew....I had talked to the one a few times though. Anyways I went in and they said "HOW WAS THE WEDDING?" And since I had always been asked about Lyss and her wedding before I figured they were asking me....the bridesmaid...how her wedding was. So I said "it was great! It was soooo pretty!" Then they were asking when I was gonna bring in pictures... and I said "Well, I don't have any but I'm sure my sister will bring some in when she gets some." And then they said "That's funny. your SISTER bringing them in....you should be the one bringing them in!" Uh what? DO THEY THINK I'M ALYSSA? So then I felt all awkward cuz I didn't know if they knew I was ME or if they thought I was Alyssa! A couple weeks ago at work I walked past the waiting room to take my student downstairs and Alyssa's student later asked "Do you have a sister, cuz someone walked through the waiting room and I almost got up and followed her cuz I thought it was you!" lol.

Tomorrow is my last day of classes! This semester went by REALLY fast for me. I'm hoping my year at Durham College will go as fast :S. I have been emailing one of my teachers and am finding out my program is  ALOT OF WORK :S. My last seven weeks of first semester I have to be out doing my practicum on Thursday and Friday 8 hours each day. Which isn't so bad I guess. My last seven weeks of SECOND semester I have to do 40 hours a WEEK on top of a job. So I am dreading those very last seven weeks, even though they are a year away still. So now I am going through the dilemma of ....can I handle a job and school? Do I pay the $500 for parking or do I take the bus? etc.... At times I wish my parents would still make all my decisions for me ;) Ah, well. I hope I will figure it all out eventually.

Thoughtful Day

Today I sat through my last 3 hour class :). I survived!!!! 3 hour classes have never been my thing. Once we hit about one hour I'm either wishing for a break or my mind is THINKING about the next meals I will eat for a WEEK or something like that! lol . But i made it, I survived! :) I got home and decided to get a head start on printing out all the notes I have to hand in on Monday. First I decided to test and see what colour ink I had left because I knew it was almost gone. While printing my "trial" page I mistakingly started printing the wrong document....the 24 page one! So I kept trying to cancel it....and then I took all the paper from the printer...but everytime I tried to print something else it would start printing those 24 pages again! I fiddled around with it for about half an hour and FINALLY got it to cancel printing....only to find out that my black ink is gone and when I tried to print a page it turned out all pink. Yup, I'm gonna have to go out and buy ink tomorrow. My ink could NOT have lasted me 2 more wks could it?

I didn't end up having to teach piano today and you know what that meant? I had WAAAAY too much thinking time! Do you ever think so much that your head hurts? Yup that's what I did today. I was thinking of how I don't really like change. I like it to a certain extent but at the same time I hate it. I hate when people change. I hate to see friendships just go down the drain. I am thankful to have a God who never changes. I am thankful that God is a friend who will always stay true. I don't understand how people can live a life without God? Who do they turn to in time of trial or fear? I am so thankful to be a Christian!

I have come to a sad realization....I own lots and lots and lots of shoes. So many, that if I wear a different pair every day for a month I will still have extras....And in what world would I ACTUALLY wear a different pair of shoes every day?....half of them are not even COMFORTABLE! I have ALSO realized that my recent obsession with family feud on facebook is pointless. I try to get my overall score near the top of the list...but you know...I didn't start playing it til a couple months ago...so I am waaaaaay behind some people and if they play it for the rest of their life, and I do too, I will NEVER catch up! How depressing is that????????????????

Like I said....way too much thinking time today....I will now sit here idly with my tongue hanging out of my mouth and stare at a wall and not think of a single thing...maybe that will cure me ;) and MAYBE NOT :)

Maybe I like Mondays :)

Well the dreaded Monday is over with...and it wasn't even that bad! Maybe I am beginning to like Mondays! :) I went to school early today to see the start of the preaching contest. Jonny preached for his second time ever, but it was my first time hearing him and he did AMAZING! If I was the judge, he would win the contest HANDS DOWN! Biased?....no :)

On my way to work I happened to be behind a police car. I have gotten 2 speeding tickets (now you must know...I do not intentially speed....both times I had someone else in the car and I guess I was talking instead of driving...lol so I have an official fear of police men.) Yes, yes I know...they are here to help us...I don't doubt that...I am still scared. So I followed the police car HALF the way to work while thinking..."can he pull me over for getting to close to his car?" "Will he pull me if I am singing with my music?" So I stayed 20 feet behind and didn't sing with my music! ha ha ha! On the way home I was driving along and I got in the light and whose in front of me? A POLICE CAR!!!! The same thoughts ran through my head....lol! Did you know both police cars changed lanes without using their blinkers? just an observation ;) ....

Well tonight was a GREAT night of teaching. I adore my students :) Jonny tells me that everytime I teach I spend the whole night talking about my students. Oops :) Good thing I have a BLOG now :) ha ha. My 17 year old student came into the lesson tonight with a BABY. For a second I was a little confused until I saw it was a robot baby! She had told me before that she was in a parenting class and would possibly have to bring a "baby" into her lesson one day. The baby cried 4 times DURING THE LESSON! LOL! So she would have to either feed it a bottle, change its diaper, burp it, or rock it. She kept apologizing everytime it cried but I thought it was the FUNNIEST thing ever! lol. Except when it screamed REALLY REALLY LOUD....as in loud enough for ANYONE on the same floor to hear. Ya, that was a little weird! lol

I OFFICIALLY have only 3 more days of classes! Can you say E-C-S-T-A-T-I-C? yup THAT'S ME!!! :)

Early Easter

Well today was a great day at church...as usual :D... my parents are going to visit Jenn and Tim next weekend (it will be my FIRST TIME staying all alone in the house...and I'm not looking forward to it at all!) which means we celebrated our Easter today :)! We had an AMAZING TURKEY DINNER with gravy, squash, stuffing, potatoes, & pie! It was sooo good! I'm getting hungry thinking about it :). Then we decorated some eggs. Our way of decorating eggs is wrapping them in onion peels and boiling them...they turn out really cool. And then it was time for the BEST part of ALL....the EASTER EGG HUNT! (yes Jonny, Lyss, Phil & I are all over 20 yet somehow it's still fun! ha ha) Last year I won the egg hunt but Alyssa said I cheated...which I did NOT! Alyssa and I are VICIOUS DURING THE egg hunt! We push and fight and scream....it's like we turn into 5 year olds again! lol . Phil & Jonny just quietly gather their eggs. Unfortunately Alyssa won the egg hunt this year.....she had 28 eggs....I had 22! I was not far behind...just wait til NEXT year!
I looked out the window while I was making my bacon and eggs for supper :) and saw a bunny. This is not unusual since we have seen bunnies, deer, turkeys, and even a LYNX in our backyard before. I am slightly obsessed with bunnies but I was extremely excited today because  "IT'S THE EASTER BUNNY! where ARE my chocolate eggs????" My dad ruined my excitement but telling me "IT'S not even EASTER!" I keep forgetting that today is not Easter for the rest of the world....just for our family. :) He was a cute bunny all the same...my summer goal can be to tame this bunny and let him live in my closet without my parents finding out....ummm YA RIGHT :) ....I can dream right? :D. Tomorrow is Monday again :S....At least I will be done school soon and then Mondays won't seem so bad :).....ohhhhhhhh to be done school. I have neglected my assigned reading AGAIN this semester and I have ALOT of pages to read within the next week....I'm definitely not looking forward to that! I adore reading...on my OWN time. Oh well, it's my own fault for being a procrastinator! I literally never procrastinate ANYTHING.... except my reading ;)

Well today the rain was POURING down! I didn't mind because I had to go work at subway and I hate being stuck inside when there is nice weather outside! Joy & I worked together today. I have to admit work is alot more fun when I have my best friend there. We do our job, but we also get to talk...AND get paid for it! lol And we get to fight about who is serving the next customer! ha ha ha

That is one thing I have decided I am DEFINITELY going to miss at Durham college! I am going to miss having my friends around all the time at school like I do now :(. I know I will make new friends (well I HOPE I will!!! ha ha!) but it's just not the same :(. I am praying for a nice Christian girl to be in the Personal Support Worker program with me.
Well another Saturday over and done with ... :S...the weekend is almost over...which means it's almost Monday...aghhh.... WHY AM I THINKING OF THIS ALREADY? I am going to go enjoy the rest of my Saturday night and eat a snack :)
(Oh tonight at Jonny's house I smacked my knee on some wooden thing...He looked at me and said "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"... YUP I have a bruise to show for that one too...I think I am becoming clumsy....It would make sense if it's genetic ...you should see my sister Alyssa, she's embarrassing! :D)

Good-bye Raking....HELLO SUMMER!

Well we did it! We finished off the raking! My dad, Jonny, and I raked 20 bags of leaves today! It was torture! But we finished ALL the raking in one week. That's never happened before, usually we do it every Saturday for about a month. Altogether in the last week we have raked a total of 40 bags. I feel so accomplished! lol. The two elderly ladies who live behind our house were out planting their garden. They had a cute little dog that they told me was a rescue dog. It was my first time meeting them and they seemed like such sweet ladies.I'm glad I had a chance to meet them today. Jonny & I had to carry all the leaf bags to the front of the house...but on the way back I got in the wheelbarrow and got a ride back to the shed! ha ha. Except we kinda ran into a tree branch and I either jumped out or fell out...ha ha...i'm not really sure what happened! My dad then took Jonny and I out to Mary Browns and to get ice cream. After I finished eating everything I was not even full! Crazy!

I was downstairs in the basement and was ABSOLUTELY freezing so I ran to get my sweater. Somehow as I was running I managed to hit my FOOT with my ankle bone.... LOL.... WEIRD I know....but it hurt sooooo bad. So I fell on the ground and laughed HYSTERICALLY....it's either laugh or cry when something really hurts and usually it comes out as a laugh.... So Jonny asked me about TWENTY TIMES if I was ok and then said "WHY ARE YOU SMILING???" "umm....cuz it HURTS obviously!" lol... Somehow I managed to bruise my foot with my ankle bone. I don't understand MY LIFE! lol.

I can't believe I have 4 days of school left. I am definitely ready to graduate. I have gone to the same school since I was 4....I am now 20...that's A LONG time to be in one place lol. At the same time I'm scared to leave the comfort of the school I have known all my life and start out in another school in September. :S Either way I am DEFINITELY ready for summer holidays and they are JUST around the corner....! I have a feeling this is going to be a great summer :D

Shortest work day EVER!

Well today I went into work at 3 because I was subbing for two students before I started teaching my own at 4! So I taught one student and then was halfway through the next... knock knock, "make sure your window is closed."...."uh....ok" A few minutes later....knock knock.."There is a gas leak and we have to evacuate the building!" I figured this meant for a few minutes so I left all my stuff upstairs only to find out we were done work for the day...!!!! yay!  I only had to teach a student and a half today! I was glad I subbed because if I hadn't I would have gotten to work RIGHT WHEN they told everyone to leave...and it would have been a waste of a trip :S...sometimes things work out in weird ways! Jo and I decided we should make use of our night off work so we went out shopping and to dinner! It was fun! Then we bought a two dollar movie :) Meh...it was ok, but I wouldn't have paid more than a toonie for it! lol

My dad was sitting on the couch tonight and tried to get up and it took him a few tries. It reminded me of my grandpa who used to always have trouble standing up once he was sitting. I laughed and said "You're more like Grandpa every day" He then went on to slouch over like grandpa used to and I said "SHUFFLE YOUR FEET....SHUFFLE THEM!" ....so He did....and I laughed and said "WOW it's just like grandpa!" He said "ya, I don't even have to pretend anymore!" lol....he's not that old! Really! :D

Jonny thinks I eat too much!

Well we had an amazing Bible conference yesterday !!! I always LOVE the Tuesday of Bible conference...well I shouldn't say ALWAYS...I remember the tuesday of conference seemed like torture when I was a little kid ....it felt SOOO long...lol...and now it feels too short! Oh, the joys of growing up! :) Well today Jonny came over since we didn't have church tonight and neither of us work on Wednesdays :). He helped my dad and I rake leaves.... oh how I hate raking leaves!! It was more fun with Jonny there though. I guilted him into doing my job for me sometimes "JONNY I CAN'T carry the huge bag of leaves...it's too heavy" (insert "puppy eyes" here)....actually the bag WAS really heavy... I couldn't lift it lol. We then played Mario. We have now officially beat the whole game (all 8 worlds) and when we beat the game a 9th world popped up...here's the trick though...in every level of every world there are 3 BIG coins you have to collect....Jonny & I never knew why we had to collect them so we just ignored most...unfortunately we need ALL these coins to play in world 9. ha ha...needless to say we practically have to play the WHOLE game over again :) I'm thrilled cuz I LOVE MARIO....Jonny isn't so thrilled . :S lol. Jonny got me some ice-cream from the freezer and only put two scoops in there...so I went back to the freezer and added a few more scoops. Jonny then went on to tell me that I eat too much! lol! After I was done my ice-cream I wanted chips....he REFUSED TO LET ME HAVE ANY!!!! He told me I could have fruit....how DEPRESSING!!! So I did eat fruit....dipped in CHOCOLATE :D :D :D

I woke up today and laid in bed and thought....after this week...I have one week of school (not counting exams)....WHAT????? ONE WEEK OF SCHOOL? HOW CAN THIS BE? I got up and looked at a calendar and sure enough...next week is my last week of school...then exams! I can't believe I am graduating! I still feel like I'm in junior high! lol...does that feeling EVER go away? Usually my first day of summer break I lay outside in the sun and read....it's not looking so promising right now....the warm weather seems to have left for a few days ... I have new flip flops just WAITING to meet the outdoors! lol

Interesting Monday

Well, I had an interesting Monday today. Usually I dread Mondays but surprisingly today was not so bad :) Alyssa and I went out shopping for a bit before work and the WEIRDEST THING happened. We were in chapters looking at books and I dropped a book on my foot lol. It was a soft cover book but it hurt SOOOOO SOOOOOOOO BAD. I ran over to Alyssa and wanted her to HIT HER OVER the head with THE DREADED BOOK because I wanted her to feel pain too...not like it was her fault....I dropped the book myself lol...but i NEEDED to share the pain. I think I kinda just squealed and said "OWWWWWWW" and looked down and had a LITTLE hole in my foot. NO JOKE! At that point it did not start bleeding yet so it was literally a little HOLE IN MY FOOT! I said "I TOLD YOU IT HURT!" and then it started bleeding...ha ha...all this DRAMA FROM A SOFT COVER BOOK. Who would have known. After work I went to subway and was running and almost stepped on the BIGGEST BEETLE I HAVE EVER SEEN. I stopped in the middle of the parking lot and took a picture but it looks small in the picture because I was too scared to get close :S.... lol. What an interesting Monday I tell you :)

Good-Bye Pay Check!!!

Today on my way to work I stopped to fill up my gas tank. It was almost on empty and the price was high as usual. So i stood there and filled it up...$40....$45....$50.... "COME ON PLEASE BE FULL ALREADY!!!! PLEASE TURN OFF! ....$55....FINALLY full! Then I drove to Subway and opened my paycheck....for 55 DOLLARS LOL...I said "Hey I JUST spent this pay check"...how depressing I tell you. Oh well, at least my car is happy now :D. There are officially 2 weeks of school left and then exams! I am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED! I can't wait to be FREEEEEE FOR SUMMER :) ....which today, by the way...felt like summer. I walked out of work at 3 and said "IT'S SO WARM!" (a few customers said it was cold out...so all day I was trapped inside thinking it was cold...ha ha...oh well...work would have felt longer if I knew it was warm out :D ha ha) I got to be outside for a bit in the warmth...my dad raked some leaves so I had to bag them. He said "I raked 3 piles" BUT he forgot to mention that the 3rd pile was a MOUNTAIN!!!!" We filled ten bags on the last pile alone. I told him..."from now on you specify WHETHER IT'S A PILE OR A MOUNTAIN!" I even got to lay outside for an hour before supper and read....yup I think summer weather is on the way ! :D

Friday-best day of the week!

I have come to the conclusion that Friday is the ABSOLUTE BEST day of the week. Jonny and I both have Fridays off work so we always have every Friday night together and I LOVE IT! I am convinced that I HAVE THE ABSOLUTE BEST BEST BEST GUY IN THE WORLD! (I don't know what that leaves the rest of you with... :S ha ha :D) Anyways in the last few weeks every SINGLE TIME I have gone to his house or he has come to mine...he has brought me a present. He's always sweet....but I'm like....hmmmm why so many? ha ha . He told me that he's buying it all now so that in summer he NEVER has to buy me anything... ha ha ha . In the last few weeks he has bought me a family pack of mini eggs, a one pound chocolate bunny....8 CREAM EGGS!!!....more chocolate....yup he's the best! He knows me well, he buys me food :). I never thought that I could be so much in love...and not just because he buys me food! lol. I am so so so thankful for my Jonny and I thank God every night for giving me the perfect man! I LOVE YOU JONNY!

Read the fine print

Well today I tried to book my "G" driving test online. I put in my credit card number and then it said "processing...do not press refresh or back...this may take up to 60 seconds...." So I waited....I went and ate lunch...and dried my hair...AN HOUR LATER IT WAS still PROCESSING! So I did the unspeakable and pressed "back" and tried it again! The same thing happened. I decided to try call the test booking place and hope that my credit card didn't get charged 3 times! ha ha. First I was talking to an automated MACHINE and it kept saying "I don't understand.... did you say "blah blah blah" "NO!" So then it put me through to an actual representative...feeling a little dumb now, I told her how I couldn't seem to book a SIMPLE "G" TEST! She said "were you trying to book it on firefox?" I said "yes." She said "well it says on the VERY FIRST PAGE that the transaction will not go through on firefox." umm....oops....does she mean the first page which I didn't feel like reading? ha ha. Oh well my driving test is not booked and I can worry about it for the next few months :)

Tonight both mine and Alyssa's last student didn't come. We got to leave work at 8 so I went to her house for an hour and a half and we had some fun sister time! I do wish she would move back home...but that would mean something bad happens to Phil...and I don't wish that ! ha ha. I just can't win. It's officially lonely being an only child!

The Hairspray Situation

 Today I went shopping before school :D. I went to Wal-mart and walked almost EVERY aisle of the store looking for SOMETHING to buy! ha ha! I was in the hair supply aisle when an elderly man came up to me and said "do you know anything about hairspray?" --OH DO I EVER! i have tried sooooo many different types of hairspray. I love hairspray. I may be a little obsessed! (not nearly as obsessed as my sister jenn though, when she still lived at home if she got a hold of my hairspray it would be gone in days---but she has such pretty hair so I guess its worth it :D ) I told the man "yes i do know about hairspray!" He went on to tell me how he wanted one that did not make his hair really hard. So I found him a cheap, flexible hold, non-girly smelling hairspray. He then said "Thanks so much! It's nice having you around!" Somehow his last statement made my day. I absolutely LOVE elderly people! (I will be taking a Personal Support Worker program at Durham College this year and hopefully can find myself a job working with the elderly) I used to help take care of my Grandpa when he used to live at our house. Sometimes helping him with EVERYTHING from cutting his nails to writing estonian for him became very tedious. Now, I would go back and do it all again for him if it would mean still having him around. When it got to the point where we couldn't leave him at home by himself anymore, we moved him into an Estonian nursing home. He seemed to love it at the nursing home. Whenever my sisters and I would go visit him he would tell everyone...and i mean EVERYONE..."these are my granddaughters!" I remember when Alyssa and I went in the dining hall where my Grandpa was eating, (my grandpa LOVED food... he had the BIGGEST sweet tooth in the WORLD ---i THINK its genetic ha ha--) My grandpa was so excited to see us (he didn't know we were coming to visit that day) that he didn't even stay for the rest of his meal or his dessert, hard as we tried to convince him to finish eating before "visiting with us."  That's DEFINITELY saying something for my grandpa,  in all the years he lived at our house he NEVER missed a meal. It used to break my heart when we would finish our visit at the nursing home and walk out to the elevator and look back at the glass door to see my grandpa waving and waving and waving (sometimes crying) until the elevator doors closed and we couldn't see each other anymore. Don't get me wrong, my Grandpa DID love the nursing home, he just didn't like when our visits would end.
One day when my dad and I went to the nursing home we found my Grandpa's slipper had a big brown hole that looked burnt into it. My dad asked my grandpa what happened, he replied with "I thought it was a cookie!" ha ha ha! (in his defence, the hole was brown and round so I guess to someone with bad eyesight it could be mistaken for a cookie...though WHY a cookie would be on his slipper for DAYS I do not know!) And now for my absolute FUNNIEST memory at the nursing home.... my grandpa had recently come home for Christmas where one of my uncles was talking to my other uncle about a booster cable. My grandpa was using a walker at this time and we had left it upstairs since he could sit on the couch downstairs and didn't need it. He heard my uncles talking about booster cables and for some reason assumed that they were actually talking about his walker! ...a week or so after Christmas we went to visit my grandpa and he was asking about his walker...which he now called a "booster cable." ha ha ha. My dad was trying to explain to him that it was called a WALKER...not a BOOSTER CABLE! My grandpa was ABSOLUTELY convinced that it was a booster cable. My dad said "WALKER!" My grandpa said "BOOSTER CABLE"
And so it went back and forth "WALKER, BOOSTER CABLE, WALKER, BOOSTER CABLE!" Finally my dad convinced my grandpa that it was a walker :)
I miss my grandpa who is now in heaven. I miss my nana who is living far away in Australia! I miss having my grandparents around. God always provides though, as I have "inherited" some more grandparents since I started dating Jonny. His grandparents are some of the sweetest people I have ever met :)

 

Cinderella!

I used to absolutely hate taking piano! I was one of those people who would play through half a song, get frustrated, bang the piano and say "I am NEVER playing piano again! I hate it, hate it, hate it!" My parents forced me to go up to grade 8 piano. I can't say I was grateful back when I was taking piano, but now that I am teaching it I am very grateful i was pushed....and prodded...and FORCED : D I absolutely love my piano students! Last night at work I had my hair up and my student looked at me and said "ok you REALLY look like cinderella!" Ha ha I wasn't too sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing, so I asked her. She said "IT'S A GOOD THING OF COURSE!" So for the rest of the night last night i walked around feeling like cinderella :). Teaching piano last Monday was not pleasant at ALL for me. I had student after student who either tried to be the teacher ("no, I didn't play that note wrong! NO I DIDN'T!!!) ,who didn't practice, or who complained because they didn't like the kind of candy I had. I never ever ever get mad at my students but last monday was probably the closest I have ever come, I may have given a few lectures on
"Oh you had time to watch your favourite shows? Then I know you can find time to practice!"
"If you don't like the candy, you don't have to take it!"
"Can I be the teacher and tell you when your playing a note wrong?"
Definitely not one of the happiest nights for me. It didn't help that on the way home someone continually flashed their highbeams at me (The lights on my car are very bright and people sometimes think I have my high beams on) So I flashed my highbeams back to show that they weren't on. Then the other person flashed theirs again! So I may or may not have flashed mine about ten times... but the other car did it right back to me....unfortunately for them I had pretty much driven past them when they decided to flash theirs back. In my mind I was thinking "REVENGE! SWEET REVENGE!!!!!!!!!!" Dangerous and silly I know, but it made me feel better about my night...and then I laughed the whole way home realizing how silly I was. I went to sleep that night thinking "hopefully my students will be angels next week!" All that to say, last night...my students were ANGELS : D. I left work feeling happy. I was driving Alyssa home, talking away, and suddenly I'M BLINDED BY SOMEONE FLASHING THEIR HIGHBEAMS AT ME! "MY HIGHBEAMS ARE NOT ON PEOPLE!" Because I was not feeling the need for revenge, I only flashed mine back once to show that my highbeams weren't on! I think that is DEFINITE progress!
