Well , the last time I blogged I was saying how I was SOOOOO busy...as of today...I have NOTHING to do :). It's a very nice feeling! I do have a couple of assignments to work on but they aren't do for a while and I'm almost done! I love the feeling of having NOTHING to do :).
Last Saturday Jonny & I decided to make caramel apples! yum!!! I was SO excited!!! :) Everything went great as we were following the directions...until we got to the last step. The last step said to let the caramel cool for ten minutes before putting it on the apples! We let it cool for about three minutes and went back to look in the pan only to find that it had gotten too hard to put on the apples! Boo! So we put it back on the stove and it burnt.....as if that wasn't bad enough, once we turned the stove off the caramel turned ROCK hard! HALF an HOUR later our dishes were FINALLY clean!!!! Agh! We had to put it BACK on the stove and melt everything to be able to wash it lol. Last night Jonny & I tried our second attempt at caramel apples. Everything worked perfectly this time but I think we may have put the caramel on the apples a LITTLE too thick! Ha ha. We CHEWED and CHEWED and CHEWED for half an hour! My jaw was really hurting by then! :) Apparently caramel apples & I don't get along very well. :S
Last Sunday Jonny & I got our engagement pictures taken by Mrs. Brown. At first when I walked outside in the morning I was SOOOO cold that I thought I would maybe turn into an ice cube that afternoon when we did our pictures. Either it got a little bit warmer or I got used to the cold, but I survived :). It was so much fun and I can't WAIT to see the pictures!
Today was my last day for Semester 1 Lab at school! It's kinda sad because I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE doing lab. I laughed SO hard in lab yesterday. We were learning how to feed each other but we had to "role play" as we were doing it. They were 9 scenarios, and each scenario had a little paragraph for the "patient" to read...and one for the "PSW" to read. We were not allowed to read each other's paragraph...only our own. So as the patient, I had to choke, not let someone else feed me, etc...As the PSW in one scenario my paragraph said "You have 10 patients to feed in 40 minutes! Shovel the food in and don't give time to swallow. Be rude!" Ha ha! Yup that one was DEFINITELY FUNNY! I also had to talk to the "patient" like she was 4 years old. Yup I DEFINITELY laughed a lot yesterday! Starting next Thursday & Friday I will be going to a nursing home instead of lab. I am VERY VERY NERVOUS to be working with REAL people who need help instead of classmates or mannequins. Scary! I am so SO thankful though because my placement is at Taunton Mills which is a 5 minute drive from my house!! :)
I can't think of anything else exciting that has happened in my life though I'm sure there's more :S I hope this feeling of freedom lasts a while before the homework gets piled on again :)

Feeling Accomplished!!!
Well I have had a pretty good week this week...it was DEFINITELY busy but it left me feeling ACCOMPLISHED :).
Tuesday we had a mask fitting at school, just in CASE we ever need to wear masks during an outbreak once we get into working in the nursing home. (at the end of Oct.) We put bags over our heads and then a guy came around and sprayed a bitter tasting spray into a little hole in the bag...ha ha...and he kept spraying until we could taste the spray...EW! Then we put a mask on and repeated the same process again to make sure the mask worked and we couldn't taste the spray. At one point we were told to move back and forth and bend down so we could completely test to make sure the mask worked. I couldn't help but laugh as I looked down the row ...there were ten of us bowing back and forth with bags on our heads! I kind of wished I had a video camera ha ha! Some people were sick...and some were claustrophobic....needless to say there were WAY more tears over a mask fitting than there should have been. Then again I would cry too...because if we failed our mask fitting at the school we would have to drive an hour to be tested again PLUS pay 100 dollars of our own money....yup i might have cried! lol. On Wednesday I had my very first college test--Biology! I didn't know what to expect so I was feeling nervous but it went well and I only got ONE wrong!! :) yay! Thursday I had a critique for lab. For my critique I had to get a person out of bed...but there were SOOOO many safety things to remember and if we forgot ANYTHING safety related, it would be an automatic fail. We had 3 tries to pass, but if we failed all three we would not get to go into the nursing home at the end of the month and we would fail lab and not be able to come back second semester....can you see why I would be nervous? Unfortunately I failed the 1st time because the lady did not like how I took my gloves off. They actually put paint all over our gloves and if we got it on us then we did not take our gloves off the right way. Well I didn't get any paint on me...but I still failed. Booo! But I didn't mind because the ONLY part I had to redo was taking off my gloves :) which took about 20 seconds the next day :) So I officially passed my critique the 2nd time :)! Hopefully this next week won't be so busy because I think I'm going a LITTLE bit crazy! :)

good-bye free time....hello homework :)
Well I haven't blogged in a LONG TIME!!! OOPS! I didn't forget...I just had to prioritize and unfortunately blogging did not make it back to the top of the list until now :S. I have been keeping busy with homework....lots of homework :). I did do a few exciting things in the past few weeks though....
1. I had my wedding dress fitting on Friday. My dress actually FITS me now :) Now they are altering a few more things and it will be done soon :) yay!!!
2. I booked a ticket to go to NEWFOUNDLAND with my parents over Christmas break!!! :) Can't wait to see Jenn, Tim, and Michael
3. In lab at school I learned how to make an OCCUPIED bed....yup that's exciting!!! lol...
4. I went to the pickering market yesterday and realized that the market is now my new favourite place :) :)
Ha ...I figure I MUST have done more than FOUR exciting things in the last few weeks but that's all that comes to mind. Right now I'm watching the amazing race and in an absolute DILEMMA over what to eat....I don't know what I feel like eating...I hate when that happens. I am also DREADING studying biology, but at some point tonight...I will crack the book open....Boo. (The test is not til Wednesday but I'm VERY nervous about my first college test). So that's the story of my life summed up in a paragraph lol. I would say that I will try to blog more often but that might not happen! lol.....
