Last Wednesday I left for Nova Scotia to go and visit Jenn. I was up BRIGHT and early to get ready to go to the airport...at 4:30 A.M. :). Luckily I got there and there were NO lines at all so I got right through with LOTS of time to spare. Jonny bought me some breakfast, took me to where I needed to go, and then I was on my way :). It was my first time flying alone so I was a little nervous. At one point when I was watching the cool little tv that shows the path the plane is following then I got all nervous and thought I had gotten on the wrong plane. I looked at the path they were following and thought...uh...this is NOT going to take me to Nova Scotia...lol. I worried for nothing. I got there safe and sound! Jenn & Michael came to pick me up from the airport. Michael did not remember his auntie cheryl at first :(....boooo TO LIVING FAR AWAY! We went out shopping and just hung out around home and then went to church that night. The next day we went to a place called "Atlantic Playland." We had planned to buy a pass for the day but once we walked into the park we decided we would MAYBE just buy a few tickets. lol. It was not QUITE as good as we expected ;). We had LOTS of fun though. We took Michael into the kiddie pool where there was a family trying to cure their child of his fear of water lol. They would throw money into the water and say "Go get it...go get the treasure!!!" And the kid would say "nooooooooooooo I don't want to get my hair wet." Lol...it was funny. Then we went over to the water slides. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE water slides so I was SOOO excited. I paid my 2 tickets and walked up to the top of the slide. The "slow" slide was blocked off, only the "fast" one was open. EEEEeeeek. I felt a little nervous but got on the slide anyways. Ok clearly the "fast" slide was labelled by a TURTLE. It was not fast....not fast at all. At one point I slowed down so much that I thought I might get stuck! ha ha ha. It was still kinda fun ;) but I convinced Jenn that it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun and she just HAD to go on it!!! She really didn't want to but after much convincing she agreed. Michael and I waited for her at the bottom. When she FINALLY (and I MEAN finally...it took SOOO long to come down because it was SOOO slow) came to the bottom of the slide I yelled out to her "Ha I LIED! IT STUNK DIDN'T IT!" Jenn actually DID stop moving at one point and had to push herself with her hands! HA HA HA. Somehow it was still fun though...I even went on the slide again ;). Then we took Michael on a few rides. That night after Tim got home from work we all went swimming at a little lake. Perfect day :). The next day we just kind of hung around the house. That night we planned on swimming at a big pool close by that had...A HUGE WATER SLIDE!!! ahhhh soooo EXCITING! Unfortunately we missed the 3 dollar swim the night before and would have to pay TEN dollars each...jsut for a swim. SOOOO SAD. Good-bye waterslide...HA it was probably a SLOW one anyways ;) ;) ;). We went back to the same lake we swam in the night before. But it was not NEARLY as warm as it had been the night before. Now if you know Jenn, you would know that she is a big baby when it comes to swimming in cold water ;) ;). Suddenly she decided to be all BRAVE and walked RIGHT INTO the water ....while Tim and I stood in water up to our knees shivering. I don't know what came over her. But the next half hour was spent with "If you come in, you won't be cold." "Ok I got in the water, you can too." "COME IN." Lol...It's like we had switched roles. Usually Jenn is the one in water up to her knees. ha ha. I never did go fully in the water... I decided to be a chicken...and I quite liked it :). As we were living Tim took Michael over to the little park and had him riding on a frog. (One of those ones with the big spring in the ground so it rocks back and forth) Then Jenn & I decided that it was OUR turn on the frog! lol. We sat on the frog...and then leaned forward and the FRONT OF THE FROG ALMOST TOUCHED THE GROUND AND WE could not get off we were laughing SO HARD! I thought we were going to flip off or break the frog. Eventually I kind of rolled of and I think Tim & Michael thought we were ABSOLUTELY crazy. :). I guess that park was not designed for "big kids" ha ha ha! Saturday it rained and we shopped and baked :). I bought Michael one of those cool little stuffed hamsters that crawl around the house and make real hamster noises. He was a little scared of it and first. He only wanted to touch it if I would hold it for him! lol. Sunday we went to church, of course! I always love going to church in new places because it is SUCH an encouragement to realize that ALMOST wherever you are in the world there are Christians serving God, just like at home! I love it :). Jenn & I played phase 10 in between services....I think we played enough phase 10 to last us until I see her next! lol. On Sunday night we decided to try an experiment. :). We had read in a magazine that if you put coconut milk in your hair it will make it thick and it will grow faster. So we put coconut milk in out hair for an hour. It smelt REALLY good...We rinsed it out only to realize that a few hours later our hair still LOOKED WET! lol...thankyou coconut milk for giving me the GREASIEST HAIR I HAVE EVER HAD . EWWWWWWW. Luckily when I actaully WASHED it with shampoo the next day all the GREASE came out. lol. Is my hair thicker?....nope, not at all! lol...maybe it will grow faster? maybe? lol. Monday was spent playing LOTS of phase 10 again ;) and then taking Michael out to a field to play. I layed down on a blanket and Michael thought I was a trampoline OR SOMETHING...lol! It was so cute! Though it was painful when his forehead smacked into my nose. Somehow it didn't hurt him...could have been because I scared him out of his pain when I yelped in pain! ha ha ha! Finally...the dreaded time...going back home. Although it was not a long vacation Jenn & I found MANY many times to laugh until we COULDN'T breath :). Just like old times :). I got to the airport and it was not busy at all so I went up to check in and the man there noticed the design on my nails and said WOW your nailpolish is so cool! Then he asked how they did it at the salon and I told him I did it myself. He said "WOOOOOOOW really? How long did it take? HOW DO YOU DO BOTH HANDS?" LOL And then another stewardness came over to look too. Ha ha ha. It was funny. Then the man told me "This is probably too much information but I painted my wife's nails the other day and THAT'S HARD STUFF! I COULDN'T STAY IN THE LINES!!!" lol. It was too early to go through security so Jenn & Michael stayed for a bit until I had to go through. I hate saying good-bye. I turned back to wave to them one last time and Jenn said when they couldn't see me anymore Michael asked where I was :(. awwww. Our plane was a half hour delayed :S So I spent lots of time sitting in the gate listening to a kid behind me.
Kid: "Daddy, next time I don't want to sit beside you on the plane. I want to sit beside the stewardness.
Dad: "That's not nice. We just won't fly anywhere again."
Kid: "Daddy' that's rude! VERY VERY RUDE! "
a few minutes later....
Kid: "It's STUCK!"
Dad: "Well HOW DID YOU GET YOUR LEG STUCK IN THE CHAIR???"
lol...the next five minutes were spent trying to get the kids leg out of the chair. It was kind of funny. ;)
Finally, we were allowed to board the plane! As I went to get my boarding pass scanned before getting on the plane the same man who had helped me before said "HELLO AGAIN!!! IT'S THE GIRL WITH THE PRETTY NAILS! " lol... I was hoping to sit by an elderly lady on the plane because they are the IDEAL people to sit beside...at least for me. And sure enough I got my wish :). And we even had a sit between us so we had lots of room. The elderly lady even offered me some cheesies :). And she looked over and smiled at me in between her naps. lol. So sweet. :). Our pilot was SO FUNNY. He made jokes the WHOLE way. The entire plane was laughing. It was a good ride back besides the delay and the fact that I underestimated how fast I read. I finished my book too fast and then had nothing to do. When we landed we were told that our luggage would be a TWENTY MINUTE WAIT.... boo! I knew I should have taken a carry-on. lol. Oh well. I got home safe and sound and got to see my parents who were FINALLY back from their cruise :)
This made me laugh so hard! And it made me miss you even more....
