Terrorized by a bat!!!!

Last night started off just like any other normal night. I fell asleep only to be awoken 2 hours later to all the lights in the house being turned on and my mom asking my dad “Did you get it?” Uh oh...those four words.... did...you....get...it...can only indicate one thing...THERE IS A BAT IN THE HOUSE! I was reminded of months ago when Alyssa would wake me up in the night at say “THE BAT!!! IT CAME BACK!!!!” And we would squeal and run up the stairs to get my dad. I no longer have anyone to squeal with...that makes it A LOT scarier!!!! So I went upstairs and sure enough the bat was back...but when my dad went outside to get the broom it got away...somewhere. ( My mom was supposed to be watching it but she was hiding in a room with the door closed ha ha) We searched the house and decided to go back to bed cuz it was NO where to be found.  I was laying in my bed and could NOT fall asleep. I could say I just felt SO awake after our bat hunting...or that it was because I was really thirsty (which I was)...but PRETTY MUCH it’s because I was SCARED! Lol. Now you have to know, my cat Misty is one of the laziest cats around. She eats and she sleeps. When we all sleep she is RARELY ever walking around the house...except last night. She had been laying by my purse earlier and after I turned out my light I thought I heard a sound coming from my purse!!! Could the BAT BE IN MY PURSE or do I have a WILD IMAGINATION? (I will never know) I tied a belt around my purse and dragged it out the door ha ha when all of a sudden I saw Misty running and thought I MAYBE saw something moving. I slowly creeped toward the bedroom so I could turn on the light when all of a sudden...
 SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP  ....SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP
We have FOUND OUR CULPRIT! This bat did NOT seem to be afraid of people. (Seriously we have had so many bats in the house in the last few years that I feel I should start naming them all and start a school or something) He swooped about an INCH ABOVE my head...and you must know while I was laying in bed I was thinking “why on earth do I have to have curly hair on the day there is a BAT in the house! Seriously...Why can’t it be straight...if it gets in my hair it will get stuck...and I will have to be shaved BALD or have my hair cut off”.... with that in mind I RAN AS Fast AS I POSSIBLY could to the STAIRS AND slammed the door behind me. Got HIM! Phew! Ummm ya apparently the bat flies as fast as I run ...I was about to step up the stairs when all of a sudden the bat is RIGHT in front of my face....I SCREAMED LIKE I HAVE NEVER SCREAMED BEFORE
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE’S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
And then I ran into the room where HE was supposed to be locked in...and locked myself in...I don’t care WHO is locked where...as long as we aren’t locked TOGETHER! My dad came down with a tennis racket and I heard “SMACK....flop” My dad asked me to grab him a garbage can so he could take the bat outside. I replied “which garbage can?” He laughed and said “Who cares. Just a garbage can!” I said “Well we have had SOOO many bats these days that I thought we maybe had a SPECIFIC garbage can for bats now!” Ha ha...I guess that’s the next thing to buy. A personal garbage can for the bats to transport them outside!  Now I would love to say that no animals were harmed in the making of this story...but it’s not true. We tried to do it the nice way years ago but every time we let the bat go free he would come back the next night. I have to admit the bat looked kinda cute when he was all dead in the garbage can. He looked like a baby mouse. I felt a little sad for him...then again he was NOT so cute when he was CHASING ME ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!  R.I.P. little bat...and PLEASE do not send your family back for revenge. I need to get my sleep at SOME point during the night. (I was so jumpy last night that I didn’t fall asleep until about 3 HOURS LATER!!! At least I’m not the only one J My mom is just as much of a chicken as me.) And that’s my bat story...:)
