New Adventures

Well I officially go to a school of MORE THAN 60 PEOPLE.... lol! For the last 16 years I have been a small school girl so Durham College seems HUGE!!!! Tuesday was orientation which was pretty much just getting to know about my program and then getting to know the people IN my program. I left an HOUR early so that I wouldn't be late for orientation because of the strikers not letting people into the school. It was only a 5 minute wait which was no big deal. I even got free food out of it...and you ALL know my opinion on FREE FOOD :), enough said! :). Wednesday was my first day of classes. The strikers this time stopped me for about fifteen minutes which almost MADE ME LATE FOR MY FIRST CLASS. Nobody wants to be late for their first class. I parked my car and took off running. lol. I didn't know where I was going...but luckily I found my class pretty fast and got there RIGHT on time...whoo. We had to stand up and introduce ourselves to the class which scared me to death. I don't like talking in front of big groups of people but it seems I'm not the only one. lol. It seems I have a class of very shy people and surprisingly that makes me feel better. I was one of the first to volunteer to introduce myself because I wanted to get it over with. It got worse when I found it that in a few weeks we have a project due where we have to stand up in front of the class :S. Oh well...:). After class I had an hour break until my next class so I decided to walk around and try find where all my other classes were. I must have looked lost because a lday came up to me looking all concerned and said "uhhh...are you LOST?" ha ha...I guess I was. I tried to find the bookstore and I ended up OUTSIDE...by the university...I dont even GO to the university! ha ha! Then I couldn't figure out how to get back in. So sad :(. At that point my bag was feeling VERY heavy (I think I have the heaviest books in the WORLD) and I could hardly even hold it anymore.Luckily I found my way back inside and a lady told me "FREE PANCAKES OUTSIDE!!!" yuuummm! More free food! I definitely picked a good school to go to. lol After that I FINALLY found my next class. This class goes from 11-2 so clearly I was getting VERY hungry by the middle of class. Finally, the moment we were all waiting for...BREAK TIME!!! Tim Hortons was the ONLY thing on my mind...I had twenty minutes to walk upstairs, wait in line, and come back. So I walked...and walked...and walked...and all I saw was hallways. I took a turn...and saw another hallway, went up some stairs...and was in another hallway. None of which led to Tim Hortons... :(. Defeated I went back to class, my stomach rumbling . At the end of break two girls walked in carrying pizza...I wondered just HOW much trouble I would get in for attacking a fellow student for their food...I know who to follow next time I guess. I survived my first day of classes though! i DID pull a muscle in my neck though..ha ha (I TOLD you MY BAG WAS HEAVY!!!) ...I may have to invest in a locker. Today I left for school 50 minutes early only to be stopped by the strikers for ALMOST HALF AN HOUR. Once again, I was rushing to my class. But today, I found my class with no TROUBLE AT ALL!!!! My class was REALLY interesting :). On my hour break I had to go get a photo id...so guess who found it WITHOUT getting lost? Yup! Me :). Then I went and waited for my next class....which I DIDN'T GET LOST FINDING. Yup I'm so proud! :). In my lab today I learned to wash my hands :). You wouldn't believe ALL THE GERMS on your hands...ewwww. My lab is every Thursday and Friday and I'm NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR MY ENGAGEMENT RING!!! :(. For a girl who NEVER EVER takes her ring off...that's VERY depressing. I'm also NOT ALLOWED WEARING NAIL POLISH. I always manage to choose jobs that DON'T let me wear nail polish. lol. Tomorrow I have been told to bring a pillow and towel to lab. Yup, I get to walk around school carrying a pillow...how embarrassing! ha ha! I also heard that tomorrow the wait to get into school will be EVEN WORSE. Oh strike...please end already! I have almost survived my first week of school. Though I am no longer completely sane-I am feeling overloaded with homework-at least I'm KINDA finding my way around now :)
