Well it was only a week ago that I was saying how BUSY I was...All I needed was a day off school to get caught up on all my work! :) Thankfully Tuesday I got a very much needed day off school :). I have a couple group projects coming up and I was feeling very stressed about those but I got everything done. I was up at nine in the morning doing homework and finished around 5 pm. But I felt VERY accomplished :). Now I just have an impossible computer assignment to finish up WITH Jonny's help. I tried to do it on my own and the only part I knew how to do was how to rename the document. Really, I'm not that dumb with computers at all, but those assignments are killers I tell you! I am getting used to the routine of getting up at 5 on Thursdays & Fridays now. It isn't quite as bad as I thought it would be but I would much rather stay in bed til 9 :). Once I'm at the nursing home though, time just flies by. I am having a hard time trying to plan a wedding while being in school. It may just all have to be postponed until I'm done school (April 20). But I have the important things done....I have the groom and my dress :). That's all that matters! I am having a hard time finding bridesmaid dresses though. Well, I found some but they are more expensive than I hoped to make my bridesmaids pay :(. My mom says I'm being too nice...which may be true...:S
tonight I get to hang out with a friend which is a NICE BREAK... I have only hung out with one friend ONCE since I started school :S ...so it is a MUCH needed break :)
Well that's all for now.

Practicum
Ah such a busy life a tell you! These last two weeks I have gotten to go to the nursing home on Thursdays and Fridays for my practicum. I have to be at the nursing home at 545 in the morning which is just NOT FUN for me :). Oh well, I'm kinda getting used to it. I have been THROWN right into the job but I'm feeling a little more confident although it was scary at first. I have definitely had some great experiences! Some made me laugh, some made me cry. Everyone in my unit has confusion to some extent so many of them have no way of communicating. My first day at the nursing home I reached out and held a lady's hand. She can't talk, but she looked up at me and cried and then kept kissing my hand. I just learned today that her family visits her only once a year and it absolutely broke my heart. I have had some funny experiences as well such as a lady asking me if I was sober and another lady telling me that she didn't want to be an old man! :) Today after breakfast I told one of the gentlemen that I was going to wheel him out to the other room to watch tv, being the polite man he is he asked me "do you want me to help you and get up?" I couldn't help but smile because as far as I know he can't even walk, he is in a wheelchair, but he wanted to help me out :). So then I told him it was ok, he could just sit in his chair ;) and then as I wheeled him out he said "oh THIS is nice! WHAT a day!" :) It is a lot of work but it's worth it to make someone smile. It's not physically or emotionally easy but I'm glad to be able to help out in the nursing home.

Not so busy :)
Well , the last time I blogged I was saying how I was SOOOOO busy...as of today...I have NOTHING to do :). It's a very nice feeling! I do have a couple of assignments to work on but they aren't do for a while and I'm almost done! I love the feeling of having NOTHING to do :).
Last Saturday Jonny & I decided to make caramel apples! yum!!! I was SO excited!!! :) Everything went great as we were following the directions...until we got to the last step. The last step said to let the caramel cool for ten minutes before putting it on the apples! We let it cool for about three minutes and went back to look in the pan only to find that it had gotten too hard to put on the apples! Boo! So we put it back on the stove and it burnt.....as if that wasn't bad enough, once we turned the stove off the caramel turned ROCK hard! HALF an HOUR later our dishes were FINALLY clean!!!! Agh! We had to put it BACK on the stove and melt everything to be able to wash it lol. Last night Jonny & I tried our second attempt at caramel apples. Everything worked perfectly this time but I think we may have put the caramel on the apples a LITTLE too thick! Ha ha. We CHEWED and CHEWED and CHEWED for half an hour! My jaw was really hurting by then! :) Apparently caramel apples & I don't get along very well. :S
Last Sunday Jonny & I got our engagement pictures taken by Mrs. Brown. At first when I walked outside in the morning I was SOOOO cold that I thought I would maybe turn into an ice cube that afternoon when we did our pictures. Either it got a little bit warmer or I got used to the cold, but I survived :). It was so much fun and I can't WAIT to see the pictures!
Today was my last day for Semester 1 Lab at school! It's kinda sad because I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE doing lab. I laughed SO hard in lab yesterday. We were learning how to feed each other but we had to "role play" as we were doing it. They were 9 scenarios, and each scenario had a little paragraph for the "patient" to read...and one for the "PSW" to read. We were not allowed to read each other's paragraph...only our own. So as the patient, I had to choke, not let someone else feed me, etc...As the PSW in one scenario my paragraph said "You have 10 patients to feed in 40 minutes! Shovel the food in and don't give time to swallow. Be rude!" Ha ha! Yup that one was DEFINITELY FUNNY! I also had to talk to the "patient" like she was 4 years old. Yup I DEFINITELY laughed a lot yesterday! Starting next Thursday & Friday I will be going to a nursing home instead of lab. I am VERY VERY NERVOUS to be working with REAL people who need help instead of classmates or mannequins. Scary! I am so SO thankful though because my placement is at Taunton Mills which is a 5 minute drive from my house!! :)
I can't think of anything else exciting that has happened in my life though I'm sure there's more :S I hope this feeling of freedom lasts a while before the homework gets piled on again :)

Feeling Accomplished!!!
Well I have had a pretty good week this week...it was DEFINITELY busy but it left me feeling ACCOMPLISHED :).
Tuesday we had a mask fitting at school, just in CASE we ever need to wear masks during an outbreak once we get into working in the nursing home. (at the end of Oct.) We put bags over our heads and then a guy came around and sprayed a bitter tasting spray into a little hole in the bag...ha ha...and he kept spraying until we could taste the spray...EW! Then we put a mask on and repeated the same process again to make sure the mask worked and we couldn't taste the spray. At one point we were told to move back and forth and bend down so we could completely test to make sure the mask worked. I couldn't help but laugh as I looked down the row ...there were ten of us bowing back and forth with bags on our heads! I kind of wished I had a video camera ha ha! Some people were sick...and some were claustrophobic....needless to say there were WAY more tears over a mask fitting than there should have been. Then again I would cry too...because if we failed our mask fitting at the school we would have to drive an hour to be tested again PLUS pay 100 dollars of our own money....yup i might have cried! lol. On Wednesday I had my very first college test--Biology! I didn't know what to expect so I was feeling nervous but it went well and I only got ONE wrong!! :) yay! Thursday I had a critique for lab. For my critique I had to get a person out of bed...but there were SOOOO many safety things to remember and if we forgot ANYTHING safety related, it would be an automatic fail. We had 3 tries to pass, but if we failed all three we would not get to go into the nursing home at the end of the month and we would fail lab and not be able to come back second semester....can you see why I would be nervous? Unfortunately I failed the 1st time because the lady did not like how I took my gloves off. They actually put paint all over our gloves and if we got it on us then we did not take our gloves off the right way. Well I didn't get any paint on me...but I still failed. Booo! But I didn't mind because the ONLY part I had to redo was taking off my gloves :) which took about 20 seconds the next day :) So I officially passed my critique the 2nd time :)! Hopefully this next week won't be so busy because I think I'm going a LITTLE bit crazy! :)

good-bye free time....hello homework :)
Well I haven't blogged in a LONG TIME!!! OOPS! I didn't forget...I just had to prioritize and unfortunately blogging did not make it back to the top of the list until now :S. I have been keeping busy with homework....lots of homework :). I did do a few exciting things in the past few weeks though....
1. I had my wedding dress fitting on Friday. My dress actually FITS me now :) Now they are altering a few more things and it will be done soon :) yay!!!
2. I booked a ticket to go to NEWFOUNDLAND with my parents over Christmas break!!! :) Can't wait to see Jenn, Tim, and Michael
3. In lab at school I learned how to make an OCCUPIED bed....yup that's exciting!!! lol...
4. I went to the pickering market yesterday and realized that the market is now my new favourite place :) :)
Ha ...I figure I MUST have done more than FOUR exciting things in the last few weeks but that's all that comes to mind. Right now I'm watching the amazing race and in an absolute DILEMMA over what to eat....I don't know what I feel like eating...I hate when that happens. I am also DREADING studying biology, but at some point tonight...I will crack the book open....Boo. (The test is not til Wednesday but I'm VERY nervous about my first college test). So that's the story of my life summed up in a paragraph lol. I would say that I will try to blog more often but that might not happen! lol.....

Back to normal life :)
Well I am finally back into a normal routine :). School & Work! Normally I would be missing summer holidays A LOT by now (which I am a LITTLE bit) but right now I am more excited to be back in school because that means I am OFFICIALLY in my last year of school and then I will be getting married!!!! So so exciting :). I am learning to find my way around school now, I even was able to give someone DIRECTIONS yesterday! Woot! lol. I have found 3 Tim Hortons on campus...so far ;)...that's a GOOD school! :) lol. My absolute FAVOURITE days of school are Thursdays and Fridays. Those are the lab days and it's soooo much fun to actually work hands on instead of sitting in class. Today I got to ride in a wheelchair AND a mechanical lift. lol. The mechanical lift felt a bit like those swings they have at wonderland ;)...There I was dangling about 3 feet off the ground thinking "wow, they call this school? this is FUN!" I am glad I am not working a lot because I have NEVER had as much homework in my life as I do now :). I FELT EXTREMELY blessed when I went into work on Monday and found out that I had 11 students!!!! That is pretty much my income (plus a couple hours of teaching at home) for the year so it worked out great! I was worried about only working my one night at Durham School of Music but it ended up that between my teaching at home as well, I only have 3 students less than I had last year when I was teaching an EXTRA night. It's amazing! After getting excited about having so many students, I went into school the next day only to find out that a class had to be switched, so once a month I have to take a Monday off work. I sat in my seat at school fighting back tears, which may seem silly, but just when I thought everything was working out PERFECTLY something had to mess it up! For the next bit of class I sat there thinking "Well, I can skip the class...but I won't get my certificate which just is a waste....but if I have to take off that much time from work then they won't be happy with me." Oh well :). School is a priority right now ...that's just how it is. So yes, scheduling is a little bit crazy... but I will survive :). I have put planning the wedding on hold for the last few weeks but eventually I will have to find time to fit that in my schedule as well. I REALLY need to find some bridesmaid dresses :) lol. It is AWESOME to have Saturdays off work now that I said good-bye to Subway :). Tomorrow Alyssa and I are planning on hanging out :). Tonight Jonny & I are going to Alicia & Dustin's house! I love hanging out with friends! I absolutely LOVE my weekends :) :).

New Adventures
Well I officially go to a school of MORE THAN 60 PEOPLE.... lol! For the last 16 years I have been a small school girl so Durham College seems HUGE!!!! Tuesday was orientation which was pretty much just getting to know about my program and then getting to know the people IN my program. I left an HOUR early so that I wouldn't be late for orientation because of the strikers not letting people into the school. It was only a 5 minute wait which was no big deal. I even got free food out of it...and you ALL know my opinion on FREE FOOD :), enough said! :). Wednesday was my first day of classes. The strikers this time stopped me for about fifteen minutes which almost MADE ME LATE FOR MY FIRST CLASS. Nobody wants to be late for their first class. I parked my car and took off running. lol. I didn't know where I was going...but luckily I found my class pretty fast and got there RIGHT on time...whoo. We had to stand up and introduce ourselves to the class which scared me to death. I don't like talking in front of big groups of people but it seems I'm not the only one. lol. It seems I have a class of very shy people and surprisingly that makes me feel better. I was one of the first to volunteer to introduce myself because I wanted to get it over with. It got worse when I found it that in a few weeks we have a project due where we have to stand up in front of the class :S. Oh well...:). After class I had an hour break until my next class so I decided to walk around and try find where all my other classes were. I must have looked lost because a lday came up to me looking all concerned and said "uhhh...are you LOST?" ha ha...I guess I was. I tried to find the bookstore and I ended up OUTSIDE...by the university...I dont even GO to the university! ha ha! Then I couldn't figure out how to get back in. So sad :(. At that point my bag was feeling VERY heavy (I think I have the heaviest books in the WORLD) and I could hardly even hold it anymore.Luckily I found my way back inside and a lady told me "FREE PANCAKES OUTSIDE!!!" yuuummm! More free food! I definitely picked a good school to go to. lol After that I FINALLY found my next class. This class goes from 11-2 so clearly I was getting VERY hungry by the middle of class. Finally, the moment we were all waiting for...BREAK TIME!!! Tim Hortons was the ONLY thing on my mind...I had twenty minutes to walk upstairs, wait in line, and come back. So I walked...and walked...and walked...and all I saw was hallways. I took a turn...and saw another hallway, went up some stairs...and was in another hallway. None of which led to Tim Hortons... :(. Defeated I went back to class, my stomach rumbling . At the end of break two girls walked in carrying pizza...I wondered just HOW much trouble I would get in for attacking a fellow student for their food...I know who to follow next time I guess. I survived my first day of classes though! i DID pull a muscle in my neck though..ha ha (I TOLD you MY BAG WAS HEAVY!!!) ...I may have to invest in a locker. Today I left for school 50 minutes early only to be stopped by the strikers for ALMOST HALF AN HOUR. Once again, I was rushing to my class. But today, I found my class with no TROUBLE AT ALL!!!! My class was REALLY interesting :). On my hour break I had to go get a photo id...so guess who found it WITHOUT getting lost? Yup! Me :). Then I went and waited for my next class....which I DIDN'T GET LOST FINDING. Yup I'm so proud! :). In my lab today I learned to wash my hands :). You wouldn't believe ALL THE GERMS on your hands...ewwww. My lab is every Thursday and Friday and I'm NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR MY ENGAGEMENT RING!!! :(. For a girl who NEVER EVER takes her ring off...that's VERY depressing. I'm also NOT ALLOWED WEARING NAIL POLISH. I always manage to choose jobs that DON'T let me wear nail polish. lol. Tomorrow I have been told to bring a pillow and towel to lab. Yup, I get to walk around school carrying a pillow...how embarrassing! ha ha! I also heard that tomorrow the wait to get into school will be EVEN WORSE. Oh strike...please end already! I have almost survived my first week of school. Though I am no longer completely sane-I am feeling overloaded with homework-at least I'm KINDA finding my way around now :)

Parties, Shopping, & Dates
Hello! I AM still alive, yet I mistakingly neglected my blogging. oops! I have been enjoying my last few weeks of summer, mostly trying to get wedding stuff done before school starts. My mom helps me with wedding stuff, then I help her with school stuff (decorating her classroom, putting library books away etc...), we have a nice little system going on :). Unfortunately I am having no luck finding bridesmaid dresses :(. I can't find what I want in the right colour. Sad! Oh well, I still have LOTS of time :). You would think I would be sick of shopping...but I'm not! I even found my wedding shoes...on sale for TWENTY DOLLARS :). Saturday was my last day of work at Subway. I can't decide if it's a sad or happy thing...I think it's mostly happy lol...but I will miss the people I worked with. Saturday night Jonny took me out on a date. He also bought me flowers and 3 chocolate bars (one is absolutely MASSIVE) for our two years of dating :) :). Yay. We had an awesome date and then came home and watched a movie. It's funny because when we put a chick flick on, Jonny usually talks through it and I shush him. When we put an action movie on then I talk through it and Jonny shushes me! lol. And then occasionally we put a movie on and just end up talking the whole time and not even paying attention!lol. That's kinda what happened on Saturday. We both ended up talking..and then laughing...and I have NEVER seen Jonny laugh so hard in my whole life...he even had tears in his eyes from laughing SO HARD! LOL. It made me happy to realize that I get to spend the rest of my life with the guy who I can laugh with. I love him! Tuesday night I got to paint little girls nails at a birthday party. I drove a couple of them home to the Tudhopes house and if you EVER want to have a laugh, just listen to little girls talk! It is the absolute FUNNIEST thing ever to hear the stuff they come up with. I had a fun night of going to the Mandarin and perfecting my nail designs on their nails :). By the end of the night my legs were starting to hurt because of how I was sitting but I decided to tough it out since I almost had EVERYONES nails painted...BAD IDEA! Yesterday my legs were in so much pain that it was a CHORE to walk...or sit...or stand..lol. Oh well, they are ALMOST better today. :) That pretty much sums up the exciting bits of my week (I forget what else I did ha ha). Tomorrow I get to go to wonderland with the Faith Way College and I'm SOOOOO excited :). Durham College starts on Tuesday....I'm scared :S

The Ex
On Saturday Phil, Alyssa, Jonny & I went to the ex. I was SOOOO excited to be going to the ex rather than working! LOL (Saturday is my LAST shift at subway). There was a broadway ice show at the ex and I SOOOO wanted to get on the ice and start figure skating...not that I know how...at ALL...ha ha but it was AMAZING :). After that we walked through all the buildings with the cool booths...but the best building of ALL was the one where we could go SHOPPING!!!! Lol. I found 2 purses that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED but could not decide which one to buy. In trying to help me decide I guess, Jonny said "You don't NEED two purses." A random lady turned around and said..."yes, she does. She really does." So that decided it :). I bought one...and Jonny bought one for me. :). Jonny absolutely SPOILED ME! We even got dippin dots (the "ice-cream of the future" lol). It's funny because I have always been very careful with my money. I am not afraid to SPEND money but I hardly EVER buy anything for full price. Jonny often gets annoyed at me because even when he is paying I still look at prices and choose cheaper things over more expensive things. My reasoning is that if I wouldn't spend THAT MUCH money on something...why would I let someone else waste that much money? He is trying to get me out of that habit...ha ha. I love him SOOOO MUCH! Today we went looking for places to take wedding pictures. We MAYBE found a place but are doing a BIT more looking this week. I am trying to get as MUCH wedding stuff done as I can before I start school. Just a few weeks now and I will be in my VERY last year of school! I have a feeling I will REALLY LIKE school this year though. It will definitely be a change from my last 16 years of school... but sometimes change is good I think :).

Terrorized by a bat!!!!
Last night started off just like any other normal night. I fell asleep only to be awoken 2 hours later to all the lights in the house being turned on and my mom asking my dad “Did you get it?” Uh oh...those four words.... did...you....get...it...can only indicate one thing...THERE IS A BAT IN THE HOUSE! I was reminded of months ago when Alyssa would wake me up in the night at say “THE BAT!!! IT CAME BACK!!!!” And we would squeal and run up the stairs to get my dad. I no longer have anyone to squeal with...that makes it A LOT scarier!!!! So I went upstairs and sure enough the bat was back...but when my dad went outside to get the broom it got away...somewhere. ( My mom was supposed to be watching it but she was hiding in a room with the door closed ha ha) We searched the house and decided to go back to bed cuz it was NO where to be found. I was laying in my bed and could NOT fall asleep. I could say I just felt SO awake after our bat hunting...or that it was because I was really thirsty (which I was)...but PRETTY MUCH it’s because I was SCARED! Lol. Now you have to know, my cat Misty is one of the laziest cats around. She eats and she sleeps. When we all sleep she is RARELY ever walking around the house...except last night. She had been laying by my purse earlier and after I turned out my light I thought I heard a sound coming from my purse!!! Could the BAT BE IN MY PURSE or do I have a WILD IMAGINATION? (I will never know) I tied a belt around my purse and dragged it out the door ha ha when all of a sudden I saw Misty running and thought I MAYBE saw something moving. I slowly creeped toward the bedroom so I could turn on the light when all of a sudden...
SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP ....SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP
We have FOUND OUR CULPRIT! This bat did NOT seem to be afraid of people. (Seriously we have had so many bats in the house in the last few years that I feel I should start naming them all and start a school or something) He swooped about an INCH ABOVE my head...and you must know while I was laying in bed I was thinking “why on earth do I have to have curly hair on the day there is a BAT in the house! Seriously...Why can’t it be straight...if it gets in my hair it will get stuck...and I will have to be shaved BALD or have my hair cut off”.... with that in mind I RAN AS Fast AS I POSSIBLY could to the STAIRS AND slammed the door behind me. Got HIM! Phew! Ummm ya apparently the bat flies as fast as I run ...I was about to step up the stairs when all of a sudden the bat is RIGHT in front of my face....I SCREAMED LIKE I HAVE NEVER SCREAMED BEFORE
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE’S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
And then I ran into the room where HE was supposed to be locked in...and locked myself in...I don’t care WHO is locked where...as long as we aren’t locked TOGETHER! My dad came down with a tennis racket and I heard “SMACK....flop” My dad asked me to grab him a garbage can so he could take the bat outside. I replied “which garbage can?” He laughed and said “Who cares. Just a garbage can!” I said “Well we have had SOOO many bats these days that I thought we maybe had a SPECIFIC garbage can for bats now!” Ha ha...I guess that’s the next thing to buy. A personal garbage can for the bats to transport them outside! Now I would love to say that no animals were harmed in the making of this story...but it’s not true. We tried to do it the nice way years ago but every time we let the bat go free he would come back the next night. I have to admit the bat looked kinda cute when he was all dead in the garbage can. He looked like a baby mouse. I felt a little sad for him...then again he was NOT so cute when he was CHASING ME ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!! R.I.P. little bat...and PLEASE do not send your family back for revenge. I need to get my sleep at SOME point during the night. (I was so jumpy last night that I didn’t fall asleep until about 3 HOURS LATER!!! At least I’m not the only one J My mom is just as much of a chicken as me.) And that’s my bat story...:)

Summer....summer....summer !!!
Ok I keep neglecting my blog...I know :)...but I still have a good excuse...my internet NEVER works...it's sad :). Last week my mom and I went all around town trying to get some wedding stuff done. :). Such a wonderful mom...she loves to help :). I'm trying to get as much wedding stuff done as possible before I start school :S. On Wednesday we went into David's bridal in Scarborough and I have NEVER seen SO many wedding dresses in my ENTIRE life. I already bought my wedding dress so I was trying not to let myself look at the dresses JUST in case I liked one better...the temptation was too great...lol...I walked over to the wedding dresses only to realize...I still like mine better...PLUS I liked the price I paid better too :). Lyss got to try on a MILLION (ok MAYBE I'm exaggerating a LITTLE) bridesmaid dresses and left me with the feeling of "how on earth am I ever going to decide on bridesmaid dresses...I love them all!" lol. On Thursday I went into school to help my mom move the furniture around in her classroom. We didn't want to empty out cupboards and desks before moving them so we decided to use our BIG muscles instead. Now you must know...on the occasion when I visit a gym...which is HARDLY ever...I use the ABSOLUTE lightest weights possible...I am a sad sad case. My mom and I pushed and pulled and PUSHED and PULLED til I was absolutely SWEATING. At one point she was sitting on the ground pushing the cupboard with her feet while I was pushing on her back so she wouldn't fall over. Soooo funny :). Eventually we got EVERYTHING moved and I had a LOVELY pulled muscle the next day to show for my hard work :). lol. Thursday night I went with Jonny and Abigail to see a movie in the park. (Ajax has 2 movies in the park every summer so we always try to go to them). We brought our lawn chairs and were happily watching until some lady and her daughter come up in front of us and get out their lawn chairs and sit down. No big deal right? WRONG!!! Maybe they bought these lawn chairs from COSTO or some STORE FOR GIANTS because their lawn chairs were TWICE the size of everyone elses. Thank-you lady for blocking HALf the tv screen! lol...Oh well the movie was kind of boring anyways plus I was FREEZING. But it was still a fun night :). The next morning Jonny had to fix his car so he asked if Abigail and I wanted to go to the mall. I never say no to going to the mall. :). So we drive to the car place...which is in THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!! Oops! Jonny forgot to tell us that at the last minute HE DECIDED TO TAKE HIS CAR TO A DIFFERENT PLACE...A PLACE NOT BY THE MALL! lol...After we complained for a while Jonny took us to Coffee time to get a drink and snack. Sure, it wasn't a mall ...but my butter tart wasn't half bad either :). In the afternoon Alyssa & I went to swim at Rachelle's house. I absolutely LOVE swimming!! Although the water was pretty cold...so I didn't do too much swimming...I stood there and shivered instead. Lol. Then poor Lyss got stung by a flying bug thing...Poor Lyss :(. After we were done swimming I went to Joy's house since our boys were camping and we were both lonely. We played with her bunny ...who by the way ACTUALLY LIKES me (I think)--before she was married I would go to her house and her cat would run away from me and her dog would pee when he saw me, I don't know WHAT I ever did to them- it's nice that her pet FINALLY likes me! lol. We talked and talked and talked ...it's so nice to have a best friend who I can talk to about ANYTHING! As we were getting ready for bed we thought we heard something outside and got a little scared. So before I was going to sleep I was thinking of how if someone came in the house I would try rescue her since she is having a baby so technically I would be saving TWO people at once...lol...And this is what triggered my SCARY wolf dream when I finally did fall asleep. You know in your dreams when you just CAN'T run fast enough? Well that's what kept happening...and the wolves would come up the stairs and I would yell to joy that we had to close the door but then it would always be too late...the wolf would come in and try attack us...at one point I swung a wolf by its tail and threw it down the stairs (my dad laughed when I told him this part of my dream...I think his words may have even been "ya right" lol...clearly he doesn't know the STRENGTH I possess when my adrenaline kicks in....ha...;) I actually woke up sweating...the dream felt so real. I don't think I like wolves anymore...then again I never really HAVE liked wolves :) On Saturday I gave Subway my two weeks notice...I'm so scared to be dropping work down to teaching piano one day a week...Money doesn't grow on trees but I'm kinda wishing it did ;). Sunday was an amazing day at church of course...You know sometimes it's annoying to walk down from choir and not be able to find a seat...on the other hand it's amazing because we HAVE A full HOUSE :). Today I spent the day with Alyssa. We went in a few scrapbooking stores ...and I found my weakness :S. I LOVE making cards and I wanted to buy EVERYTHING I saw in there...but I didn't . I did buy some cool fuzzy zebra ribbon. I already have a card pictured in my mind...I know exactly how I'm going to use it :). Lyss & I had an awesome day. I'm not really sure what we DID all day lol...but it was fun. :) My dinner at her house consisted of Brownies, pickles, and cheese. I feel sorry for her future children ;) ;). Believe it or not this is the FIRST summer where I am ready to go back to school . I am SOOO scared to start at a new school yet SO READY to be done school because when school is done...I'm GETTING MARRIED :) :). cAN'T WAIT! (I have officially been engaged for one month :D)

VACATION!!!
Well I haven't posted in quite a while because I was on VACATION! It was one of my FAVOURITE vacations ever! I went with Jonny's family to Outer Banks, North Carolina. We left last Saturday (July 30th) at 4 in the morning and got to our cottage at TEN AT NIGHT!!! Looooong drive...yet somehow it didn't seem THAT long. :). We stayed in a nice place with the ocean about 3 minutes away and the pool and hot tub 2 minutes away. For a girl who loves to swim...I couldn't have been HAPPIER :). Jonny, Abi, & I swam more times than ANY human being should ever swim in ONE week! It was SOOOOO much fun!!!!!! :D! The waves were absolutely HUGE!...I have NEVER in my life been scared of waves before but these ones made me a little nervous lol...but they were SOOO fun! :) We also got to go shopping a few times and you know how I LOVE shopping! lol :) .I got a chance to know Jonny's family better which was AWESOME! Joanna and I stayed up until 2 or 3 every morning talking about WHO KNOWS what! lol...it was so much fun ! :). I learned that Jonny's parents are two of the ABSOLUTE most CARING people I have EVER met in my entire life. (I knew this before...lol...but being with them for a whole week just confirms it even more lol.) We had MANY MANY laughs throughout the week. All in all it was an ABSOLUTELY amazing week! I am SO SO SO SO SO SO SO THANKFUL that I will soon be a part of their family! (10 months and 15 days!!!! woooooooooooot!!!!!)

:D
Well I am ABSOLUTELY thrilled to be blogging again because my internet has NOT been working for the last WHO KNOWS how long. It works for a few minutes and then stops working. It is so depressing. But it has ACTUALLY been working for a few hours tonight so I am finally loading all my engagement pictures on facebook :). Unfortunately it is taking FOREVER to load the last 5....but I won't give up! I will be patient...and wait ...and wait...and wait :). I had a GREAT wk with friends this week! :). On Monday Alyssa and I went to the mall & I got some amazing deals. Surprisingly I bought NO clothes...that's a first for me. Alyssa and I went to East Side Mario's for lunch. We both ordered sandwiches off the lunch menu and with the sandwich it said we had a choice of salad, fries, or soup. We both picked caesar salad and then asked how much it was to order a garlic bread. The waitress told us the bread comes with it at no extra charge. So we got two loaves of garlic bread...and a MASSIVE bowl of salad. (we were supposed to only have a single serving each) Once we finished the salad, the waitress asked if we wanted more...then she brought us our sandwiches...with FRIES! Somehow we ended up with WAY more food than we ordered. We thought she maybe thought we ordered off the dinner menu or something but sure enough our bill came and we weren't over charged... hmmm...we still aren't sure how we ended up with SO much extra food but I'm not complaining :). On Tuesday Jenna came over for a few hours and we caught up on the last few months. (I hadn't seen her for quite a few months). On Wednesday Joy & I went to the beach! The water was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING...so we didn't even swim. We walked in the water up to our knees and stood there until I got goosebumps...it was SERIOUSLY cold. We talked about EVERY possible THING to talk about... :). We talked about weddings...and babies...and weddings...and babies...and then I educated her on CPR ...ha ha ha :) Today I met Shannon at Starbucks and we talked and talked and talked. (I have done ALOT of talking this wk...lol) Starbucks has some deal going on where you bring your receipt from the morning back to them after 2 and you can get a grande cold drink for 2 dollars...I have NEVER gone to starbucks twice in one day...but it was a good deal! lol...I did share it with my mom though...;)..so I don't feel COMPLETELY guilty...My mom and I shopped this afternoon and she bought me some awesome stuff to make cards with. I LOVE making cards :). She also bought me Wendy's for dinner! I love her so much! Not just because she buys me stuff ....but she is such a giver...she really is. This Saturday I leave for vacation for a week with Jonny's family :)

Wooo hooo! WHAT....A ....WEEK!
Wow. As I look back on this last week I realize I had a very busy week....but a fun week :). Monday was the day I had been waiting for for MONTHS. Finally...I can REGISTER for classes! I was at Jonny's house at 8:55 AM since registration began at 9. (my internet hasn't been working lately so I decided to trust Jonny's internet :D) SOOOOO many people were on the site trying to register for classes that I had to try lots of times to get on the internet. FINALLY it worked ...and then I realized I only had ONE choice of schedule. I had been told I could pick my schedule which is why I wanted to be the FIRST one on there to get the best schedule! lol. So then I called Durham College because I thought maybe I was doing something wrong...I was on hold for a few hours in total. I called back a few times throughout the day and FINALLY got through...and I found out I only have ONE schedule choice. :(. So Tuesdays I will be in school til 6. Thursdays and Fridays aren't looking so promising either, but the other two days are ok :S. Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes. On Tuesday my mom wanted to go wedding dress shopping with me. I told her we would go look but I wasn't going to CHOOSE a dress that very day because I needed more time to decide on what I wanted. Little did I know that I would find the PERFECT dress....and that it would be HALF PRICE...and that I would leave the store the PROUD owner of a wedding dress! lol...yup I couldn't resist that deal! :) Tuesday night I taught piano and showed off my engagement ring to my students! lol. My one student said "If I had a ring like that then I would stare at it all day too!" lol...!!! Yes, I still stare at the ring...sometimes while driving....bad bad! On Wednesday Jonny, Lyss, and I went to the lake....PERFECT day! I was in the toddlers class on Wednesday night and we only had THREE kids! I don't REMEMBER the last time we have only had THREE kids in there. You know what that meant? MORE FUN! LOL. The kids were SO SO SO GOOD that I gave them TWO snack times and THREE puppet shows! It was DEFINITELY a much quieter group than our usual twelve! Yesterday & today I went to a CPR course. The weather was absolutely KILLER HOT yesterday and where we were having the class starting getting warmer....and warmer...and warmer... We were told there was air conditioning on but we weren't feeling it. We all got out of class 3 hours early because of the heat :D. Today we also got out 3 hours early ...for no reason :). Today we got to do CPR on the mannequins and all that fun stuff. One mannequin lost a lung. One mannequin baby lost a head. Another mannequin got sat on. Yup, lots of laughs today! The class was pretty fun and I have now become a hypochondriac....really. Did you know that women can have HEART ATTACKS and not even know it? They often just ignore it...because women can take pain so well. (take THAT boys).... Did you know that fatty acids will stick inside you FOREVER?....Good-bye McDonalds fries! Yup...like a said...a hypochondriac. The class was a little gruesome at times too...Do you know what to do if you find an amputated limb on the ground? I do! Did you know that if someones intestines ARE HANGING out of their body you should NOT put them back in? Did you know that it is VERY easy to pop an eyeball out of your HEAD? ummmm ewwww. I'm actually very glad that Durham college required me to do the CPR class because I learned SO MANY valuable things! Did you know that in Ontario if somebody is DYING (as in lying on the side of the road, unconscious....etc.) we do NOT have to HELP them? Isn't that absolutely awful? The ONLY time you are LEGALLY required to help a 'dying' person is in the workplace. I think half the problem is that people don't KNOW CPR and don't know HOW to help someone. That absolutely ASTOUNDED ME.... Both times when I drove home from my CPR class I managed to take a little detour. Yesterday I took a nice LONG detour in the opposite direction of my house. Only when I ended up at the MALL did I realize that I went the wrong way :S. Lol....today was only a little detour....I somehow went in a little circle at first but figured at my way home after! If anyone needs a GPS....it's me! lol. Today while driving home I had my music turned up and the song had sirens in it. My heart LITERALLY stopped and I thought "OH NO , NOT ANOTHER SPEEDING TICKET!!!" Even though I KNEW I was going UNDER the speed limit because I was on a back road with no one on it and I wanted to hear the end of the song! lol. Well that has been my week so far. My parents are going to the cottage tomorrow and I'm stuck at work. I asked HALF the world to take my shift but so far it's a no :( boooo. I think I will despise work a little EXTRA tomorrow :)

Engaged! WOOT!
Well it's official...I am ENGAGED! WOOOT WOOOT WOOOT! I actually cannot remember a time in my life when I have been HAPPIER than I am now! Seriously I have had my head in the CLOUDS since Friday and I CANNOT stop staring at my ring! It is the MOST BEAUTIFUL RING I HAVE EVER SEEN! I tell you...that man of mine... he sure is AMAZING!
So here is the story....
We went out to a place called Toula restaurant on the 38th floor of the Weston Hotel with an amazing view of Toronto. I thought we were going out as a surprise for my mom's birthday- she fully played along asking where we were going to dinner.
"Are we going up the CN tower? Are we eating on Captain Jack's boat?"
And there I was in the back seat laughing at her ...little did I know that the joke was on me. Ha ha. She knew ALL along where we were going...:)
We had a three course meal (the last course was dessert...and I have to say creme brulee is the absolute BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN) and then near the end the waiter asked us about our food and then brought us these "complimentary" tickets and he said every night they randomly choose a table to go on a cruise and we had been chosen tonight so if we weren't busy at eight then it was just up the street. I seriously thought we were the LUCKIEST people in the restuarant ! My Dad and Jonny went to the yacht to check it out and see if it was "safe" while my mom and I shopped at some little shops. They came back and said it was PROBABLY "OK" to go on ;). My parents had just come back from a 10 day cruise so I STILL did NOT clue in when they said ...we aren't going to come because we really don't feel like getting on a boat again. So Jonny and I got on the boat. I thought we had won the DEAL of a LIFETIME! lol. Little did I know that Jonny had MADE the tickets himself and asked for a good "actor" to present them to us!! I tell you ...those were some REAL looking tickets. They even had the little dotted line to rip off the bottom half of the ticket which we gave to the boat driver. The boat driver totally played it up and said "OH WOW! THE LUCKY WINNERS!" ....yup I still didn't clue in. lol The first twenty minutes were spent sight seeing around Toronto and then the wife of the driver said "we set up something special tonight so you can come on down" So we went downstairs and there was a table set up and rose petals and cheesecake and sparkling juice and a huge bouquet of my favourite flowers (Jonny had it ALL delivered).Somehow I STILL did not clue in and the lady left and I said "wow...they sure do A GOOD JOB on this free boat ride!!!" And then I asked Jonny..."AREN'T YOU GONNA CUT THE CAKE?"
(I have a slight obsession with cheesecake...if I hadn't seen the cheesecake first and ACTUALLY noticed that the bouquet of flowers happened to be some of my favourites then I may have clued in. But unfortunately when my mind goes to food...there is NO coming back!!!!!! ha ha ha) and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him :) I said "of course!"
....and that's the story! I did not suspect it at all! My mom asked me after "you really didn't suspect a THING?" and I said ...."If I suspected it would I have no mascara on and my hair in a ponytail?" lol....oh well. At least I was wearing a dress ! :)! ha ha ha!
Might I add that I am the absolute happiest girl in the WORLD RIGHT NOW? I hope this feeling never goes away!
I love love love my Jonny!

Nova Scotia
Last Wednesday I left for Nova Scotia to go and visit Jenn. I was up BRIGHT and early to get ready to go to the airport...at 4:30 A.M. :). Luckily I got there and there were NO lines at all so I got right through with LOTS of time to spare. Jonny bought me some breakfast, took me to where I needed to go, and then I was on my way :). It was my first time flying alone so I was a little nervous. At one point when I was watching the cool little tv that shows the path the plane is following then I got all nervous and thought I had gotten on the wrong plane. I looked at the path they were following and thought...uh...this is NOT going to take me to Nova Scotia...lol. I worried for nothing. I got there safe and sound! Jenn & Michael came to pick me up from the airport. Michael did not remember his auntie cheryl at first :(....boooo TO LIVING FAR AWAY! We went out shopping and just hung out around home and then went to church that night. The next day we went to a place called "Atlantic Playland." We had planned to buy a pass for the day but once we walked into the park we decided we would MAYBE just buy a few tickets. lol. It was not QUITE as good as we expected ;). We had LOTS of fun though. We took Michael into the kiddie pool where there was a family trying to cure their child of his fear of water lol. They would throw money into the water and say "Go get it...go get the treasure!!!" And the kid would say "nooooooooooooo I don't want to get my hair wet." Lol...it was funny. Then we went over to the water slides. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE water slides so I was SOOO excited. I paid my 2 tickets and walked up to the top of the slide. The "slow" slide was blocked off, only the "fast" one was open. EEEEeeeek. I felt a little nervous but got on the slide anyways. Ok clearly the "fast" slide was labelled by a TURTLE. It was not fast....not fast at all. At one point I slowed down so much that I thought I might get stuck! ha ha ha. It was still kinda fun ;) but I convinced Jenn that it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun and she just HAD to go on it!!! She really didn't want to but after much convincing she agreed. Michael and I waited for her at the bottom. When she FINALLY (and I MEAN finally...it took SOOO long to come down because it was SOOO slow) came to the bottom of the slide I yelled out to her "Ha I LIED! IT STUNK DIDN'T IT!" Jenn actually DID stop moving at one point and had to push herself with her hands! HA HA HA. Somehow it was still fun though...I even went on the slide again ;). Then we took Michael on a few rides. That night after Tim got home from work we all went swimming at a little lake. Perfect day :). The next day we just kind of hung around the house. That night we planned on swimming at a big pool close by that had...A HUGE WATER SLIDE!!! ahhhh soooo EXCITING! Unfortunately we missed the 3 dollar swim the night before and would have to pay TEN dollars each...jsut for a swim. SOOOO SAD. Good-bye waterslide...HA it was probably a SLOW one anyways ;) ;) ;). We went back to the same lake we swam in the night before. But it was not NEARLY as warm as it had been the night before. Now if you know Jenn, you would know that she is a big baby when it comes to swimming in cold water ;) ;). Suddenly she decided to be all BRAVE and walked RIGHT INTO the water ....while Tim and I stood in water up to our knees shivering. I don't know what came over her. But the next half hour was spent with "If you come in, you won't be cold." "Ok I got in the water, you can too." "COME IN." Lol...It's like we had switched roles. Usually Jenn is the one in water up to her knees. ha ha. I never did go fully in the water... I decided to be a chicken...and I quite liked it :). As we were living Tim took Michael over to the little park and had him riding on a frog. (One of those ones with the big spring in the ground so it rocks back and forth) Then Jenn & I decided that it was OUR turn on the frog! lol. We sat on the frog...and then leaned forward and the FRONT OF THE FROG ALMOST TOUCHED THE GROUND AND WE could not get off we were laughing SO HARD! I thought we were going to flip off or break the frog. Eventually I kind of rolled of and I think Tim & Michael thought we were ABSOLUTELY crazy. :). I guess that park was not designed for "big kids" ha ha ha! Saturday it rained and we shopped and baked :). I bought Michael one of those cool little stuffed hamsters that crawl around the house and make real hamster noises. He was a little scared of it and first. He only wanted to touch it if I would hold it for him! lol. Sunday we went to church, of course! I always love going to church in new places because it is SUCH an encouragement to realize that ALMOST wherever you are in the world there are Christians serving God, just like at home! I love it :). Jenn & I played phase 10 in between services....I think we played enough phase 10 to last us until I see her next! lol. On Sunday night we decided to try an experiment. :). We had read in a magazine that if you put coconut milk in your hair it will make it thick and it will grow faster. So we put coconut milk in out hair for an hour. It smelt REALLY good...We rinsed it out only to realize that a few hours later our hair still LOOKED WET! lol...thankyou coconut milk for giving me the GREASIEST HAIR I HAVE EVER HAD . EWWWWWWW. Luckily when I actaully WASHED it with shampoo the next day all the GREASE came out. lol. Is my hair thicker?....nope, not at all! lol...maybe it will grow faster? maybe? lol. Monday was spent playing LOTS of phase 10 again ;) and then taking Michael out to a field to play. I layed down on a blanket and Michael thought I was a trampoline OR SOMETHING...lol! It was so cute! Though it was painful when his forehead smacked into my nose. Somehow it didn't hurt him...could have been because I scared him out of his pain when I yelped in pain! ha ha ha! Finally...the dreaded time...going back home. Although it was not a long vacation Jenn & I found MANY many times to laugh until we COULDN'T breath :). Just like old times :). I got to the airport and it was not busy at all so I went up to check in and the man there noticed the design on my nails and said WOW your nailpolish is so cool! Then he asked how they did it at the salon and I told him I did it myself. He said "WOOOOOOOW really? How long did it take? HOW DO YOU DO BOTH HANDS?" LOL And then another stewardness came over to look too. Ha ha ha. It was funny. Then the man told me "This is probably too much information but I painted my wife's nails the other day and THAT'S HARD STUFF! I COULDN'T STAY IN THE LINES!!!" lol. It was too early to go through security so Jenn & Michael stayed for a bit until I had to go through. I hate saying good-bye. I turned back to wave to them one last time and Jenn said when they couldn't see me anymore Michael asked where I was :(. awwww. Our plane was a half hour delayed :S So I spent lots of time sitting in the gate listening to a kid behind me.
Kid: "Daddy, next time I don't want to sit beside you on the plane. I want to sit beside the stewardness.
Dad: "That's not nice. We just won't fly anywhere again."
Kid: "Daddy' that's rude! VERY VERY RUDE! "
a few minutes later....
Kid: "It's STUCK!"
Dad: "Well HOW DID YOU GET YOUR LEG STUCK IN THE CHAIR???"
lol...the next five minutes were spent trying to get the kids leg out of the chair. It was kind of funny. ;)
Finally, we were allowed to board the plane! As I went to get my boarding pass scanned before getting on the plane the same man who had helped me before said "HELLO AGAIN!!! IT'S THE GIRL WITH THE PRETTY NAILS! " lol... I was hoping to sit by an elderly lady on the plane because they are the IDEAL people to sit beside...at least for me. And sure enough I got my wish :). And we even had a sit between us so we had lots of room. The elderly lady even offered me some cheesies :). And she looked over and smiled at me in between her naps. lol. So sweet. :). Our pilot was SO FUNNY. He made jokes the WHOLE way. The entire plane was laughing. It was a good ride back besides the delay and the fact that I underestimated how fast I read. I finished my book too fast and then had nothing to do. When we landed we were told that our luggage would be a TWENTY MINUTE WAIT.... boo! I knew I should have taken a carry-on. lol. Oh well. I got home safe and sound and got to see my parents who were FINALLY back from their cruise :)

Bored ...
Well I have once again neglected my blog...but for A GOOD REASON... I really don't have much to write about...my summer is pretty well uneventful. Monday was my last day of teaching piano until summer lessons so I said Bye to my five yr old student and told him to have a good summer. He then told me "I might come visit you." lol...uh ok...besides the face that he DOESN'T know where I live! lol. Tuesday was the ABSOLUTE MOST BORING DAY OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. Everyone I KNOW was either working or busy...so since my parents were away I sat in the house by myself almost ALL day (EXCEPT for 3 hours I spent at Jonny's house) I literally went into slight depression because I was so lonely and bored. I was glad when Jo came to keep me company for the night once she finished work! I opened the door and said "YAY! ANOTHER HUMAN BEING!" yup. It was a long day! On Wednesday, Alyssa and I planned to go to the lake, wouldn't you know that EVERY single day was sunny last week...EXCEPT wednesday? So we played wii for more hours than I care to admit too! :). Shannon slept over on Wednesday night and we were talking about a game we used to play as kids called "grounders." I used to absolutely LOVE that game so the next morning at the park guess who decided to play grounders? Yup...we did. But it's EXTREMELY HARD with only two people. That afternoon Alyssa, Jonny, & I went to the lake and took pictures! It was a GORGEOUS day out! So warm! Then Jonny said as a reward for passing my 'G' test a few weeks ago we could go out to dinner! yaaay! Friday we spent the afternoon at a family picnic with Jonny's relatives! It was SOOOOOOO MUCH FUN! And guess what we got to play? GROUNDERS! yay! lol! And this time there were FIVE OF US instead of two... lol! Yup I am still in love with that game! We played water balloon games, monopoly deal, spud, etc... I ran around like I haven't run in YEARS! (yes I know that statement makes me sound OLD lol but I have no need to run these days...except when I'm late for something lol) For lunch we had soup. Now you have to know, I am still getting used to eating sri lankin food. I often don't recognize what I'm eating...I see certain types of food I have NEVER seen before. After getting my bowl of soup I noticed mine was the only one that had a little bright blue thing in it. Weird...before eating it I said "Jonny, what's this blue thing?" He looked at it and said "uuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" ---BAD SIGN! I put it on my spoon only to realize it had TWO WINGS! lol...oops. This was not just a random food I didn't RECOGNIZE...IT was a weird metallic bug thing that I guess had fallen into the soup!!! Nope...not supposed to eat bugs! I am so thankful I ACTUALLY asked Jonny what it was instead of jsut eating it... EWWWWWW. After getting rid of my bug... I ate some of the MOST AMAZING SOUP I HAVE EVER EATEN! After a few bowls of soup I could no longer feel my lips...and might I say....THAT is what I call SPICY! None of this grocery store stuff that says "spicy" on the label but is a big disappointment. Oh spicy food how I love you! After the picnic we went out with some friends to see some fireworks by the lake! Next year I am determined to find some fireworks that last longer than 20 minutes!! ...Well that has pretty much been the extent of my week. Tomorrow Jo and I are going to visit her grandparents and then go to the lake. Tuesday is my first day of summer lessons (It's always exciting to have a change in schedule and meet new students) & then on Wednesday morning at 4:30 in the morning I leave for the airport to go visit Jenn. I have a good wk ahead of me :)

Drowned Rat
HELLO HELLO HELLO!
Well, the last three nights I stayed at Alyssa's house because Phil was away and she didn't want to be lonely! It sure was fun! :). Let's rewind back to Thursday ... ;). Thursday was an INTERESTING day. I went to the doctor because I need some forms filled out for school. There I was waiting for him to fill out my form when ALL OF A SUDDEN I had a NEEDLE IN MY arM. It actually hurt a lot too. I don't LIKE needles but usually I can mentally prepare myself...I get really nervous and shake before a needle but I survive. I had no time to prepare myself this time lol...so I think I imagined it hurt more than it ACTUALLY did. After he took the needle out then he filled out a bit more of the form and then said he was going to send me downstairs to get blood taken. I walked down the stairs and then looked down at my arm and on top of the white bump that comes from that certain needle I also had BLOOD running down my arm! ha ha. Yup, a little embarrassing...and I had NO kleenex with me of course so I walked into the place to get my blood taken with blood running down my arm! ha ha! The lady looked at my arm and said "Oh, are you getting all your shots done for school?" I guess it must be an indicator when someone comes in with blood running down their arm? LOL. For some reason I was even MORE nervous than EVER to get blood taken. I almost asked the nurse to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE not take my blood. Really...I don't know what was wrong with me..I'm not usually such a big baby! Ha ha. Anyways she put the needle in to take my blood and I looked the other way. She was talking to me and then said "here hold this." Still without looking her direction because I DIDN'T want to see the needle I said "umm...pardon?" She said "hold this!!!!" I said "whaaaaaat?" She said "The NEEDLE is out!!!!...you can look now! Hold this!" lol...OOPS! She wanted me to hold the cotton ball on my arm but I thought the needle was STILL in me so I wouldn't look! ha ha...embarrassing...I have to go back to the doctor in a few wks and get more needles. School is SO over rated!!! I rushed to work after and I am USUALLY always 5-10 minutes early for work...but this time I had about ONE minute to get inside. No big deal...I had to park pretty far up the street because there were no parking spots...but still no big deal. Until I started grabbing my stuff from the car and it started to rain...actually let me correct myself...it started to POUR like CRAZY! I had my BIG bag of piano books to take in PLUS AN ice cap...! Luckily I found an umbrealla in my back seat...I grabbed everything only to realize I didn't lock my doors. I had to put EVERYTHING down again and lock my doors. It was starting to get windy out so as I walked toward work my umbrella was blowing backwards so I was using ALL MY MIGHT to keep it from flying away and I was carrying SO much stuff that I couldn't even RUN! Needless to say, when I got inside the umbrella kept the BACK half of me dry, but my front was SOAKED! I looked like I wore my clothes through a CAR WASH! I actually had water DRIPPING off my ARMS onto the floor.(plus all the dried up blood on my arm from the needle...HA HA HA) I was a sight to look at for SURE...when I walked in the door and people laughed at me (good naturedly that is...I laughed at myself too)...I was ABSOLUTELY drenched! I got upstairs and my student saw me and said "WHOA. YOU GOT WET!" Lol..I turned EVERY fan in the room on and pointed them at me so I could actually DRY! It was COOOLD! LOL!!! And the icing on top of the cake was when I OPENED my bag of piano books only to find out that all the books in my bag were WET! SOOOOO sad! Definitely an amusing day :)! On Friday Jonny, Alyssa, & I all had the day off work! We wanted to do something SUPER fun but after brainstorming we realize Durham Region is a pretty boring place! Lol. We ended up going to the Pacific Mall & Ikea! :) . I am just LOVING this summer so far! Summer is almost half over already! Crazy! I hope the second half of summer is EVEN better :) !

Bunnies & Deals! :)
Last night I sub taught piano at Durham! Sometimes it's nice to sub teach as opposed to going in and teaching my own students because it changes things up ...not the same routine as always. One of the students (5 yrs old) talked more than I have EVER heard a little girl talk before. Absolutely ADORABLE. She told me I had rapunzel eyes...which was cute...then she looked at me and said "Ha ha ...you have bunny teeth...cuz they are TOO long!" Bunny teeth huh? lol. Well, good thing I like bunnies. The rest of the lesson consisted of random things like "wow sometimes you even TALK like a bunny!!" (bunnies talk? that's news to me!!! lol) "You REALLY looked like a bunny when you just did that!" We also had a conversation that went a little like this...
Her: "Wow. Your nails ARE SOOO COOL! I LOVE the polka dots!!! How did you do them?"
Me: "I have a nailpolish pen."
Her: "Umm...do you have more than one pen?"
Me: "Yup. I have lots of different ones!"
Her: "Could I PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE BORROW ONE?"
Me: "They are at home and I'm not going to see you again. I am only teaching you today!"
Her: "awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"
lol...so random but a VERY cute kid :)!
Today was a good day too! I spent part of my morning calling koodo because I had some questions about my new phone. I could NOT figure out how to talk to an actual PERSON lol...After saying "TALK TO A REPRESENTATIVE" and whining "pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease just let me speak to a HUMAN" I guess the machine decided that I needed to talk to a PERSON! lol :) My mom and I went out shopping after and I found some GOOD DEALS! A brand new book for a dollar. A dress for ten dollars! OOhhhhhhh I just LOVE deals! :) When I find a good DEAL IT literally MAKES my DAY! That's a true shopper I guess :). Speaking of...I should stop shopping any day now...;)...or not...:).

Fairs, Family, & Fun
Well I had a PERFECT WEEKEND... probably because I didn't have to work at Subway...ha ha ha! ;) On Friday Jonny, my dad, my cousin Jim, and I went to imperial buffet. I absolutely LOVE buffets and usually leave feeling like I just ate an ELEPHANT!!!! We were planning on going to my aunt and uncles house for dessert after for a family get together. My dad said "stay away from the dessert...you need to save room for later." Ha ha...telling me that is TORTURE! They had little cups of mousse...the best mousse you could EVER EVER IMAGINE! I couldn't resist...!!! But it's ok I still ate dessert later :). Saturday morning I went with Jonny's family to a memorial lunch for one of Jonny's uncles who passed away a few months ago. It was good. I met his uncle once but didn't really remember him but from all the speeches you can tell that he made a BIG impact on people's lives! I went to Jonny's house after and he needed to go out to get a present for Father's day. So we took Abi out with us and after we finished shopping Jonny pulled into the parking lot that had a FAIR! I got excited cuz I LOVVVEEEE rides and when we went to the Brooklin Spring Fair a couple wks ago we didn't get a chance to go on rides :(.! Only Jonny would lose our tickets TWICE!...AND tickets aren't exactly CHEAP either! lol He found them in his pocket the first time but the second time we couldn't find the 3 tickets ANYWHERE! I saw three tickets blowing around and said "I FOUND THEM!!!!!" Then one of the workers at the fair said to us "Oh, you finally got the tickets that have been blowing around for the last 15 minutes...!" So...apparently they weren't even OUR tickets ...cuz we hadn't been missing our tickets that long. Oh Jonny, Jonny, Jonny...;) We went on 3 rides but Jonny sat out for one ride...the worst...or BEST... ride of all...I can't decide! Ha ha! I went on the ride with Abi and it looked like a pretty tame ride from when we watched it before ....and THEN we got on it. It was kinda a spinning up and down sort of ride...I think it is the FASTEST ride I have ever been on in my life! My cheeks were SUCKED back from the force LOL AND I'm pretty sure I DROOLED lol...! Abi & I could NOT stop laughing and I actually could not HOLD my head UP! lol...it was flinging all over the place and I wanted the ride to end sooooo bad but at the same time it was incredibly fun! I love that Jonny does little things like taking me to the fair and other things to make me happy! He is SOO good to me! Yesterday (Sunday) was a great day at church, of course! :D Today was an absolutely GREAT night of teaching! That student who used to answer every question I asked her by saying "OBVIOUSLY" in a not so nice tone has literally become a new kid! She answers me properly and is so good now! She literally RAN into her lesson and her mom told me she was SO EXCITED to come! She is FAR more fun to teach when she is good! She got to choose a prize from my prize box today so she chose a stuffed lion! She was absolutely IN LOVE with the lion. We were doing a practice exam and we got to her clapback. I always tell my students to listen to what I play the first time...and then the second time tap quietly on their leg so when they clap it, it will be easier to clap since they already tapped it. She grabbed her lion off the piano and said "IS it ok if the LION taps on my leg?" ...ha ha ha! I told her for TODAY the lion could tap on her leg! lol! She is my last student to do an exam (Although I have only taught her the last month so she is not TECHNICALLY my student) which means tomorrow I don't have to STRESS about student's exams anymore! Yay! My students have done great so far! One student got a 91% which I did not even know was POSSIBLE on piano exams...but I guess it is...I was just never good enough to get in the 90s on an exam! ha ha ha! Well I will end off by saying...my head is in the clouds tonight! I feel like I am one of the most blessed people in the world in so many ways! God has blessed me beyond I ever could have imagined!

Oops :).
Well I have not written in almost a WEEK! I could say that I have been extremely busy...or something SIGNIFICANT HAPPENED in my life...but unfortunately that's not true...I kinda forgot I had a blog! OOPS :)! My cousin from Austalia came to visit for the week so I have been sleeping upstairs in the spare room for the last few nights :). I have decided I like it...it's far less lonely than downstairs :D. I didn't do anything very exciting this week...oh WAIT... I did pass my 'G' test yesterday :). I am SO HAPPY I got that over with :). I was a little nervous at first and at one point meant to turn my signal on but reached for my wipers instead. How embarrassing. :) Oh well, that's what nerves do to you and I don't think the examiner even noticed. :). There are TWO things in life that I absolutely DREAD...they are back in parking...and parallel parking :). The examiner asked me to parallel park...so I took a deep breath...and MANEUVERED THE MOST PERFECT PARALLEL PARK YOU CAN IMAGINE! I wanted to cheer AND YELL...but that probably would not have been appropriate. :). I did my hair all nice that morning...only to find out...I DON'T even get a NEW PICTURE on my license??? SO DEPRESSING...especially because the picture I have on my license now is NOTHING to be proud of...lol...oh well...that's life :). My mom took me out to celebrate my "pass" at the mall...where I looked for those 2 pairs of sandals that I wrote about in my last post...do you think they had my size at THIS MALL? Nope...I will forever remember the COMFIEST pair of flip flops that I have EVER tried on that weren't in my size :(. On Tuesday my dad, Jonny, my cousin (Jim), and I went to a baseball game. The Blue Jays ACTUALLY won :) and we had lots of fun! :). I craved a slurpee like NO ONE has EVER craved a slurpee before...Jonny & I waited til the 5th inning to go and get one cuz I said I would want one even MORE by then...did you know they have DOUBLED the price of slurpees????? I couldn't justify paying $7.50 for a slurpee...even though Jonny was MORE THAN WILLING to buy it. I just could ...not...do...it :(. I did get other snacks though...but no slurpee for me :(. Today I saw two foxes in the backyard...I was half caught between being amazed by them and wanting to run inside...I kinda crouched there watching the foxes while being ready to run. The mama fox licked the baby fox clean. I decided they were kinda cute. I had texted Jenn earlier saying "AH THE FOXES ARE HERE. SO SCARY!" She didn't reply for a bit and then I went to Lyss' house and didn't have my phone. Jenn had been texting me but I didn't know and was not reply so she started to worry and think I had gotten bitten by a fox or was stuck hiding from them in a tree. lol. She ended up calling Lyss' since I was not home to answer my cell phone or the house phone and she was really worried. It's nice to have someone to worry about you once in a while :). Well that about sums up my wk :).

Every day should be a weekend :)!
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE my weekends! :) so much! Yesterday I went out shopping in the morning because I REALLY felt like shopping. I found the COMFIEST pair of sandals you can imagine...and do you think they had my size? NO! OF COURSE THEY DIDN'T! That would just be TOOO awesome! :(. Then I found a PRETTY PRETTY pair of sandals...and do you think they had my SIZE? Really...do I need to answer that? I came home and sat outside in the backyard and was reading when I heard this voice say "hello!"...And I replied "HELLO!"....AND HAD NO IDEA WHO I WAS TALKING TO!!!! HA HA HA!!! I turned around and realized it was a construction guy...He said he rang the doorbell and when no one answered he thought to check the backyard...lol! Long story short they had to do some work at the end of the driveway and said...do you need to go out within the next hour because we will be working on it for an hour. There was still about 2 and a half hours til Jonny was done work so I figured it was all good....THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER I WAS getting a LITTLE restless because Jonny had been off work for AWHILE and was wating for me to come...Finally I went out and asked the construction worker if I was allowed leaving yet (my car was trapped on the driveway)....but he said no. About a half hour later a construction guy rang the doorbell and said if you NEED to get out...you can go now. So as I pull up to the massive pile of dirt the guy tells me "Don't use the gas or you will sink right in." ummm AHHH! :) I asked Jonny if we could go to the mall that night to see if they had the sandals (YUP...still have those on my mind). ..and do you think THEY HAD MY size? NO! Growl! Lol. Oh well :)...maybe my mom will want to go to the OTHER mall that might have my size...hmmm...I will see what I can do this wk ;). lol! Today I worked a few hours at subway and it was absolutely POURING!!!! I have never ever seen it pour SO MUCH IN my life! I somehow LIKE working when it's pouring so hard, I'm not sure why. We had A LOT of big orders today (as in 20 subs ALL AT ONCE)...anyways I was serving a guy while the other girl I was working with was making the 20 subs. The guy I was serving said "Is there a party? Am I invited?" The people waiting for the 20 subs were behind him so I said "I don't know, ask the people behind you." He turned around and looked at the two people sitting there and said "nevermind...they look boring!" LOL. I had to drive home in the pouring rain and literally could not see two feet in front of me...a LITTLE SCARY :). When I got to Jonny's house tonight Abi & I realLY REALLY felt like going out somewhere...so Jonny, Abi, and I walked to Tim Hortons (where Jonny bought us LOTS of snacks) & then Shoppers :). YAY for the WEEKEND :). I love weekends :)

I feel so accomplished :)!
Well I haven't blogged in a few days so let me catch you up on everything.. :). Tuesday I had to stay home because my mom had some pictures coming from Australia so someone had to be home to sign for them. I literally spent half my day upstairs listening for the doorbell...which actually isn't nearly as bad as it sounds! Ha :) I had lots of reading time...and finally the pictures came:)...two gorgeous pictures my nana used to have in her house :). I went to Jonny's house Tuesday night and we decided to wash my car. Jonny pretty much took over ALL MY "car washing" jobs because I was too slow! Ha ha ha! Instead I stood by the car and complained how hot it was. Jonny told me to go get a garbage bag since I had junk in my car but I refused because I said I never keep junk in my car ;). I had forgotten about the garbage I had stashed in the side pockets...ha ha oops. So then Jonny decided that EVERYTHING I have in my car is junk...and by everything I mean MONEY,PENS, AN UMBRELLA...ETC...ha ha ha ! So I was saying "NO NO NO! Don't PUT IT IN THE GARBAGE BAG!" and just to be difficult Jonny threw EVERYTHING in ! ha ha ha! So then I pulled all my NON-GARBAGE out of the garbage bag and sneakily put everything back in the car! ha ha! I laughed soooooo hard! (and got a sun burn...--I told you it was hot outside...--ha ha!) I tell you though, Jonny made my car shine like NEVER before. Unfortunately I went home and parked on the driveway and all the pollen from the tree fell on my car. BOO! ...oh and then a bird pooped on it. Thanks birdie...thanks for NOTHING! Wednesday was an uneventful day...I was in the toddlers class on Wednesday night and I LOVE LOVE LOVE those toddlers so much! Toddlers are the cutest little PEOPLE in the entire world. One of the toddlers came in the class...sat down beside me and held my hand! Aw!!! Then he gave me the cutest little smile you could imagine! ....LOVE those kids! Ok and then today...today I OFFICIALLY BECAME AN accomplished PERSON! Ha ha. I have my G driving test coming up soon so my dad booked me a driving lesson with a friend he has in Cobourg. I have been driving for a few years but have managed to get out of highway driving. (I have done highways with an 80 speed limit but the ONLY time I have driven on a highway of 100 km was for literally 3 MINUTES....ha ha...cuz I got on and my exit was RIGHT after that.) Needless to say it was my first time driving on the 401 and I was NERVOUS! Ha ha! My dad was with me and said "ok get your speed up to 100"...yup I have had two speeding tickets but I had to be TOLD to drive faster! Ha ha! Well I survived and it wasn't so bad after all :). When we finally got into Cobourg I thought... oh what a relief. The driving instructor got in the car and said..."We are going to go on the 401!" NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! He made me go on it 3 times which is my LEAST FAVOURITE part of highway driving....getting ONTO the highway! I survived though, and I feel accomplished. (I am taking my driving test in Lindsay and they only have "FAKE" highways there! lol...yay :D) I would have driven on the highway sooner if I would have known if I would have SUCH an accomplished FEELING ! :) lol

Monday- a good start to the week! :)
Well today was a good Monday! (I actually forgot that I used to hate Mondays lol...because when I'm not in school they don't seem so bad somehow! :D) Today Joy & I went to the zoo with my mom's class! We were sad that there were no baby goats at the zoo this year though! :(. We didn't stay with the kids but we went up in the bus with them (wow...was I REALLY that noisy when I was a kid? lol) & ate with them. That hour of being with them probably gave us enough amusement to last all week. We were discussing..."Why are kids so WEIRD?" ha ha...weird in a good way of course! But they say the absolute funniest things and sometimes do the most random things that make you wonder..." what on EARTH are they thinking?" Kids are so funny! :). We had fun at the zoo...we howled back at the wolf...listened to the monkeys snort and bark (yup...I'm not kidding...the monkey actually BARKED... it was weird) and fed the GREEDY GOATS! lol...yup animals are weird too. So I think I am starting a new tradition...Last year I went to the zoo and got pooped on by a seagull. Yup, guess what happened at the zoo today? THANK-YOU SEAGULL FOR POOPING ON MY HEAD. Luckily it was not ALOT... Mrs. Brown kindly cleaned it out of my hair for me :). lol. After having fun during the day I absolutely DREAD going to work. When I am just sitting at home being bored, work doesn't seem so bad. Anyways I had a pretty normal night at work...until I got to my new student. (yup, remember the one I wrote about last week ....I wasn't sure whether or not she was ACTUALLY rude?) That half hour lesson is the weirdest half hour of my life. I'm not sure how to even explain it. At one point we were working on scales so instead of just leaving her song book open for when we USED it again in a second...she THREW it on my lap and said "I DON'T need this." I kindly asked her to PLACE it on the piano next time instead of THROWING it at her teacher :S. At the end of the lesson when I asked her if her mom comes to the door to get her she answered me by saying "How would I know...I'm not in CHARGE of my mother!" Wooooooooooow :S. The mom then told me how she planned on booking another half hour lesson with me ON TOP of the one we are already doing, but I am FULLY booked up except at 5:00 (and this student has a lesson at 6:00) ...so it doesn't make sense for her to wait around for half an hour while I teach another student and then have the other half of her lesson. So I explained to her mom that it would make sense to take another half hour lesson with a different teacher at 5:30 or 6:30 so they wouldn't have to wait around for me for an hour and a half while I teach another student in between. The mom said "oh no, no, no, we want to do it ALL with you!" ....Gasp :S.

Recital...Fair...Caramel Apple = Bliss ! :)
Well yesterday I had a recital for all my students! It was very nerve-wracking to watch my students...lol...but I DIDN'T need to be nervous because they all did AMAZING!!! :D. When I used to have to play in recitals, almost every time I would get only halfway through and then forget the rest of my song. I would practice my recital song and know it perfectly but once I was in front of people the pressure would get to me. When I looked at all my students nervous faces yesterday I knew EXACTLY how they felt. They all did soooo great though! I felt such relief after recital was done and then it was....time to CELEBRATE at the fair! Jon, Joy, Jonny & I went to the Brooklin Spring Fair! :). We went to watch the demolition derby which was VERY COOL! Somehow I enjoy seeing cars getting smashed up! :). I paid a dollar to go feed some cute little goats....well at least I THOUGHT they were cute...until I walked in and started feeding one goat...then another goat came up and PUSHED HIM very ANGRILY...and bit me! Yup, a goat bit me! Too bad I don't have a BIG HUGE gash or cut to show for it! lol! I decided I didn't like those goats so I walked over to some other goats who saw me holding food....I had THREE goats jump up on me...they were all standing with their paws on me and trying to get the food...I thought they were gonna attack me ...so I just threw all the food at them. Yup, I paid a dollar to get attacked by GOATS :)! ha ha! Jonny bought me a caramel apple at the fair and it was the BEST CARAMEL apple I have EVER EATEN! It took me forever to eat it because of ALL the caramel on it! yuuuuuuuuum! I think that's one of my favourite things about fairs... the food :). Jonny also bought me poutine for dinner. He said to me "Cheryl, you won't be able to finish it, look how big it is." I said "Oh I will finish it for SURE ...I'm really hungry!" ....20 minutes later "ummm, Jonny? Are you still hungry? I'm uhhh....well....uh....kinda full...." lol he knows me better than I know myself sometimes! :) All in all...it was a great weekend :).

4 and half hours of wii....A new record! :)
Yesterday I was sitting at home cleaning out my CLOSET...BLAH!.... when Joy texted asking if I would go out shopping with her for a bit! Obviously I chose shopping over cleaning my closet!!! lol! I brought my two left sandals hoping that the store would have a right sandal in the back :(. At least I had prepared myself for disappointment....they didn't have any. I had bought the sandals a couple of months ago & didn't have the receipt and was also told they were final sale when I bought them so i figured I would just be taking my 3 dollar sandals home & throwing them in the garbage :(. But I got lucky, the cashier told me I could go and pick out something for the same price! :). It was nice of her because she could have just made me take my two left shoes home;)! Joy & I then went to McDonalds where she managed to somehow keep biting her lip instead of her food...lol! Poor Joy! I have sure been making use of the $1 iced coffees from McD's! YUM! :) After all this fun I REALLY didn't feel like going to work, but it was a good night as usual! :). Ha ha I have one student who makes excuses for EVERY possible THING you can think of! Sometimes it's funny...other times, not so much! Last night we were getting her ready for her piano exam which is in a couple weeks so we were doing clapbacks! I said "I will play this for you and you clap it back" (We have practiced these many times before and never had a problem) Well yesterday I played, and she clapped back...SOOOOO quietly that I could hardly even hear it. Ha ha. So I told her "You have to clap so that I CAN hear you!" And she said "I can't clap!" I said "What do you mean you can't clap? We have done this before. Did you forget how to do these?" She said "No, I know WHAT to clap, I just CAN'T clap! It hurts my hands to clap, so this is how I always clap." FOR REAL? ....lol. So we had a little clapping lesson and another little lesson on "we aren't going to lose points on your exam for an excuse like that!" Lol...I have heard more excuses from this girl in the last year than I have used in my ENTIRE LIFE! ha ha ha! Excuses like.... "My shirt is too tight for me to sing." "I can't sin because I have to burp." "I can't play on this piano....it's different." ...etc...
Last night was my last time teaching one of my students since soccer season is starting for him. The only way he gets two treats is when he practices, otherwise he only gets one. Last night since it was his last lesson I told him he could take two treats. He said "But I didn't practice!" I said "I know but today I will give you two because it's our last lesson." So he took two and said "ummmm....do I have to pay you for these?" ha ha ...my students make me laugh! Last night after work Alyssa came over. We played wii for FOUR AND A HALF HOURS!!!! I have never EVER played wii for that long at once. My thumb actually HURTS today from holding the controller. That ...is...sad....BUT IT SURE WAS FUN :)!!!!!

Summer is FINALLY here :)!
Well the sun finally decided to show its beautiful face and stay with us for awhile! yay! Alyssa & I went to the lake on Monday & then Holly & I went on Tuesday! I have decided next time I am at the lake I WILL wear sunscreen. My sunburn REALLY hurts. On Tuesday Holly & I were sitting on a log watching a poor dying fish. He was trying to swim but was struggling. Seagulls starting circling around him so we kept scaring the seagulls away. Apparently we weren't scary enough for the one seagull....He swooped down and ate the POOR FISH!!! We both screamed "NOOOOOOOO!" Aw... :( Maybe being eaten was better than suffering? I dunno...I'm not a fish :). Today Joanna & I went bike riding. (Yes I wore sunscreen today! lol..I even triple loaded it on before leaving the house! :D) I haven't been bike riding since last summer and I sure have missed it. It was fun but by the time I got home I was sweating....sure is warm out...plus I broke out a sweat dragging my bike up the HUGEST hill you can imagine!!! lol . Last year when I was bike riding I had to climb that hill with my bike. I was with Alyssa & Jonny and I remember the hill felt SO BIG! Jonny dragged his bike to the top and then Alyssa & I whined a lot so that he came and got our bikes too! Ha ha we are such babies I know, cuz everytime when Jonny is NOT there, I manage to get up the hill on my own! ha ha. I feel like I got more accomplished today than I did in my WHOLE last month of summer holidays! Ha ha ha! I booked tickets to go see Jenn, Tim, and Michael! (5 wks from today I will be in Halifax!!! YAY) I got started on my durham college process :)...printed off my invoice and other things...soon I will get to see my SCHEDULE! eeeek! I am praying SO hard THAT my schedule works out so that I can still have a job :S! I made up programs for my students piano recital on Saturday & also made up goodie bags for them! I feel very accomplished today! On a sad note, I bought a pair of sandals a few months ago that have been sitting in my closet til the sun showed its beautiful face. I pulled them out of the closet today, all excited to wear them to church, only to realize I bought TWO LEFT SHOES! Soooooooo, sooooooo sad :(. I really liked the sandals. At least they were only $3. Of course they only have HUGE sizes left, so I can't even go buy two right shoes. (That was my mom's idea...she said "then we can each have a pair!") Today, I wouldn't mind having two left feet. Speaking of two left feet, I have become increasingly CLUMSY lately. Yesterday while leaving Jonny's house, I bruised my knee by smacking it on a bed, then walked outside and tripped while walking to my car! Wooooow! Today while bikeriding I got myself a NICE big bump and bruise on my ankle although not ENTIRELY MY fault. When I rode by on my bike a dog stepped out in front of me so I had to jump off and managed to hit my ankle on the pedal. Maybe I should try on those sandals????....who knows, maybe I do have two left feet!

Oh...What...A....Day!
Let me start off by saying, O...What...A....Day :)! Today Alyssa & I went to the lake. We wanted to get our first tan of the summer :). Notice I said "tan"?....not "burn."...Yup apparently I forget to tell the sun that. It's my own fault I know, I told myself that I wouldn't BURN myself this summer because not only does it HURT, but it's extremely BAD for your skin :S.ooooops! I am now suffering from a painful burn! I'm REALLY not doing that again! After going to the lake we went to work. I picked up Hannah on the way but neither Hannah & I started work until an hour after Lyss so we had an hour to kill. We decided to walk to Mac's :). Last year when Hannah worked at DurhamSchool of Music with me, every Monday we had an hour and a half spare at the same time so it become tradition to walk to Mac's :). Today we got slurpies, just like old times and drank them on the way back, only to find out that when we got back we BOTH HAD ORANGE lips and teeth from the slurpies. How embarrassing...especially because we had to TEACH SOON. I frantically licked my teeth and lips like a CRAZY PERSON ...and it worked :). I no longer had orange teeth....but it didn't matter, because my first student didn't come....and my second student didn't come. (It's her second last lesson before her PIANO EXAM....ahhhhhh) ...and then I had a spare. So if my students had CALLED I wouldn;t have had to come into work until an hour and a half later. Oh well. That's how life goes sometimes! :) My next student ACTUALLY showed up...thank goodness :). She has an exam in a couple weeks and I recently have been very nervous that she might fail, because she does NOT practice like she should. We had a "mock exam" last lesson which she laughed through and fooled around and basically didn't even care about. We had a little talk last lesson but I wasn't sure if it even made a difference. Today she came in and played EVERYTHING almost perfectly!!!!!! Not only is she going to pass now, but she is ACTUALLY going to get a good grade!!! Wow...that is DEFINITELY a load lifted off my shoulders. Although I did all I could with her and nothing else could be done UNTIL she practiced I still would have felt bad if she failed...but I can't practice FOR my students ALTHOUGH I OFTEN ...very often....wish I could! I told her after she was done "Did you know that right now I am the HAPPIEST teacher in the WORLD?" :) :) Finally the stress was off & then my new student walked in the room. Her parents told me that she was taking an exam in 3 weeks. I didn't worry too much because I figured her last teacher would have her pretty much ready. You know what they say....NEVER ASSUME! Three weeks is NOT enough time to teach her everything she needs to know. There is stuff she has to do for her exam that she has NO idea how to do. "Well stress, it was nice to say good-bye for a LITTLE while, but might I say, WELCOME BACK!"
This is a little bit how our conversation went
Me- "Have you ever done playbacks before?" (She has to do playbacks for her exam- the examiner will play something, she plays it back)
Her-"A PIGGYBACK? What's THAT?"
Me- "I said a PLAYback!"
Her-"No! WHY did you say PIGGYBACK?"
Me-" Ummm....ok, I will show you what a playback is next week. Have you ever done a clapback?"
Her- "OBVIOUSLY"
She is an 8 yr old girl & I honestly could NOT tell if she was being rude or that's just how she talks...I have no idea...She left her lesson after our half hour was up and I think I sat there in a confused state for a while like "what on EARTH just happened!" Our whole lesson was me asking her if she knew what so and so was and her either saying... "no" while giving me a sigh like "hurry up and show me already...FOR REAL aren't we done learning new things?" or a "yes" (OR "OBVIOUSLY") while kinda rolling her eyes as in "WHY ARE YOU EVEN ASKING ME THIS, Of course I KNOW!" It was definitely one of the weirdest lessons of my life...! We'll see how next wk goes :S! On a not so happy note, something is wrong with my car I think...which means I have to say good-bye to my PAY CHECK :s....!!!!!!!

DEALS! :)
On Friday I decided to go shopping at zellers. Having worked at zellers I have learned to search for sales, and then remember the price of what I'm buying because nine times out of ten, it will not scan at the sale price! lol. I had quite a few things I needed to buy and found AMAZING deals on everything! (well...except for my sour gumballs...I paid full price- 87 cents- for those! lol! I can't resist sour things, I think it's my weakness....) I found a cookbook on sale for $5 which is an amazing deal! Yes, cookbooks, another one of my weaknesses :)! I scanned EVERY single thing I was buying at the price check before going up to cash just to make sure the sale price came up! On my way up to the cash I noticed they had 1.18 litre bottles of shampoo and conditioner on sale for $5!!!!!! AMAZING DEAL! I figured that would save me money in the long run so I grabbed one of each and walked up to the cash...without scanning them! Everything scanned at sale price...until she scanned the shampoo at ten dollars... She called to do a price check after I asked if they were on sale only to tell me "No, sorry they aren't on sale. The 700 ml. ones are on sale but not these." I told her I would just pay for the rest of the stuff. After paying I walked back to the aisle where I had gotten the shampoo & conditioner and sure enough it said SALE- 1.18 litres -$5! Oh goodness...all I wanted was to buy my shampoo :(. So I grabbed the sign right of the shelf and took it up to cash and got my sale price. :). It brought back memories of when I used to work at zellers and literally EVERY item scanned wrong...The customer would get angry...I would call the department for a price check...and no one would call back.... it was very frustrating! I often just gave the discount the customer wanted and hoped I wouldn't get in trouble for it. :S. Lol, it is nice now to be the annoying customer rather than the cashier! ha ha :). Saturday night Jonny, Holly, Joel, & I went bowling! I have never done so awful at bowling in my ENTIRE LIFE. The only time I actually didn't do half bad was my last few tries because by that point I was angry at bowling and took my anger out on the bowling ball. It worked :). We tried to fit in three whole games of bowling which meant we had only 12 minutes for our last game. It was probably very humorous if anyone was watching us because we looked like we were in fast motion! Unfortunately Jonny was in "too fast" mode when he threw a ball BEFORE the machine thing was fully up. The ball hit the machine and EVERYTHING stopped. Umm...oops...it was jammed. The guy in charge came to fix it and said VERY sternly "You have to wait until the machine is READY BEFORE you throw the ball!" BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD Jonny! Jonny always does silly things like that! Sometimes it's embarrassing but he makes me laugh! :)

Always good for a laugh...:)
Well today I didn't do much at all! I stayed in bed FOREVER this morning reading my new book until I finally forced myself to put it down or I would have spent all day in bed reading. I had to teach tonight which I dreaded since Jonny finished work at 4 and I hate working when I know he is at his house and I could be there too....if I wasn't WORKING .... LOL. I have two students who are booked for a piano exam in a little over a week and today told me "oh by the way...I can't go to my piano exam!" ummmmm...........what? " These same two students also would not print off their exam form from the internet which they are supposed to print off when they register for their exam...I have been asking for WEEEEEEEKS for them to bring the exam forms and finally got frustrated and just printed them myself. One of these same students also STILL HASN'T paid me for recital (a month late! seriously) Another one of my students would not sing properly....she constantly burps during her lessons...grosssssssss! After my 5 yr old student's lesson tonight he sat in my chair and said in a high voice "Find an 'A' on the piano." Ha ha...he was trying to be me :). lol. Somehow tonight was a good night at work though...not sure how...but it was :D! Lyss & I got subs after work and dessert from a bakery! yummmm! What a good day! :)

Good-Bye :(
Well Jenn, Michael, and I had an awesome last few days together! Yesterday we all (including Lyss too) went to have lunch with my dad at his work. :). It was a beautiful day outside yesterday so we took Michael to the park. I taught him how to blow dandelion seeds :). Well not so much BLOW them....I taught him how to shake them lol! He was so excited and kept pointing at more dandelions for me to get for him. Jenn & I were taking pictures and we wanted one together so we put it on timer and I told her to get on my back ...lol....that didn't work very well at ALL...I fell over onto the pavement and she fell on top of me. We could NOT stop laughing and finally I squeaked out "get.........off......me......" but she couldn't because she was laughing too hard...ha ha! When we got home Jenn & I decided to help my parents out so I mowed the lawn...(which by the way was the first time it was mowed this year so the grass was longer than usual which made the job FAR more difficult...I now have bruised hands :S)....and Jenn made supper :). Then Jonny, Jenn, & I went out shopping...or should I say Jenn & I shopped and Jonny chauffeured us. He followed us around the stores but didn't actually SHOP (he's not much of a shopper), after I felt a little bad that I had asked him to come so I asked him..."did you have fun?" He said "ya of COURSE!" What a good chauffeur :) Jenn & I then played mario & watched gilmore girls when we got home (the story of our LIFE)! :D Today we went to have lunch with my mom at her work :). (I have gotten A LOT of free lunches lately...lol:D) Today kind of just slipped by and before we knew it, it was time for Jenn & Michael to leave :(. My parents & I took them to the airport. We got stuck in traffic which I didn't mind because we got to spend longer with them :). My dad bought all of us dinner and then it was time to say good-bye. I hate saying good-bye...but I will be visiting Jenn within the next month or two so this time I got to say "See you next month!" :)

Surprise!!!!
Well...guess who flew in on Friday morning? JENN & MICHAEL!!! I couldn't say anything before because it was a surprise for when my mom got back from Australia last night :). Jenn & I went to church but had to leave early to beat my parents home to surprise my mom. We felt pretty dumb leaving church after being about only 2 minutes into the sermon. lol. Oh well. Jenn, Michael & I hid in the dining room and the idea was when the door opens Michael would walk over to check it out and surprise my mom. (We even practiced it once...I walked in the door and talked with and aussie accent...LOL) Michael didn't do QUITE so well in the real thing...when my mom walked through the door I had to poke him a bit to get him to walk to the door lol...but when Mummy saw him she was SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!! Michael is SOOO big now :). He now is like a little boy more than a baby, but he still LOVES being cuddled!!!! :) . The other night I cuddled him while he drank his bottle and it was the BEST :).
Yesterday Jenn, Jonny, Lyss, & I played mario. It was hilarious! We were FULLY YELLING AT EACH other when we would mistakingly kill each other. ha ha. It was fun :). Jonny kept purposely throwing us off cliffs and killing us :(. Sometimes in the game we would randomly pick each other up just to be annoying. Poor Jenn was not very good at the game so at the hard part she said "HELP! Somebody put me on them!" LOL...SHE wanted someone to pick her up and carry her through the hard parts. ha ha ha !
Oh , did you notice we MADE it past May 21? The rapture didn't happen as PREDICTED. lol. I knew it wouldn't happen because no man can know the exact time that Christ will come back...but at the same time I was a little anxious for 6:00. Crazy I know...but around 5:30 Joy pulled out her phone and we (everyone at our table at the wedding on Sat. ) all kept checking the time. When it got to 6:00 I grabbed the table leg and started shaking the table...I whispered "EARTHQUAKE! EARTHQUAKE!" (lol I had to whisper... it was in the middle of the speech at the wedding ha ha) Unfortunately nobody believed it ;). Ha ha! Once again God has shown men that he is in control ...and will come back in His own time :).

Perfect Saturday!
Today Jonny, Joy, Jon, & I went together to Alicia and Dustin's wedding! It was a beautiful wedding! I just love weddings! I love the atmosphere and EVERYTHING! :). I remember one summer when there were SOOO many people getting married ...IT WAS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY! Now this year, hardly anyone is getting married and it's depressing because weddings are the HIGHLIGHTS of summer :(. Oh well. Today was such a nice wedding :). On the way home Joy, Jon, Jonny, & I sang at the TOP OF OUR LUNGS TO OUR CDS. I laughed soooooo hard! The boys occasionally sang like girls while Joy & I would sing like boys. Maybe you had to be there but as I sat there beside my man, with two AMAZING FRIENDS in the front, and looked out at God's beautiful creation I thought "Does it get better than this?" I really feel like I am one of the luckiest girls in the world. God has blessed me more than I could ever imagine!
